Aww clever boy sitting up so early!

This is my beautiful daughter Amelia-Rose, I'm a very proud Mummy because she beat CMV with no lasting problems. When I was 34 weeks pregnant, I found out I had the infection for the first time, I had an amnio & found out Amelia-Rose also had it. I got told there was a 90% chance she'd be disabled, as it attacks the brain in babies (if the mother gets it for the first time whilst pregnant). I'd never felt so much heartbreak in my life. They offered me an MRI scan to see if they could see her brain & how bad things would be but I refused as I didn't want to know. I was induced at 38+3 because I requested to be, I couldn't take not knowing how her health would be any longer. She arrived on the 15th May 2012 at 4:45 in the morning after a very long night of labour! She was taken to be checked over straight away & they couldn't find any obvious problems. They took a urine sample whilst we were still in hospital & sure enough, the CMV was present. I was told to expect her to have hearing loss, as it's the most common thing to suffer from with CMV, but she passed her first hearing test perfectly! 1 year on & she's still doing amazingly. :D I have to take her for regular checkups, she has had eye & hearing tests done a couple of months ago & got the all clear!

My little miracle. <3
