Hiya

I couldnt have nt scan and bloods because baby wouldn't co-operate for measurement (tried twice!) so I had quad bloods taken on thurs lunchtime (15/9) at 14+2 (the hospital said anything after 14wks was fine). My hospital doesnt process them, they're sent from north devon to gloucester. I was told by my mw that if bad news they'd call, if not, I'd get a letter in 2-3weeks time.

Did anyone get a call about being high risk? If so, how quick did they call you?

thanks :)

I'm in the States, but I had the quad scan as well. My OB's office called me a few days later, and the OB himself spoke directly to me so I knew it couldn't be great news... He was very calm and matter of fact though, and put me at ease. I had a reduced chance of DS, but a very increased chance of trisomy.

Scheduled an ultrasound and amniocentesis for about a week later, but the ultrasound ended up so normal that we canceled the amnio with the doctor's blessing.

In previous pregnancies, I'd also done the quad screen, and didn't get my results until my next month's appointment - they were all normal.

I my past pg I had the blood test only part of the test as that was all the nhs did.. This was always low risk and was sent out to me by letter...
This time we had the NT and bloodwork which I was told that they would ring if it was high risk and send a letter if it was low risk. I have had some terrible dealings with this hospital where I had the test so told them to ring as well even if it was low risk...
I had my test done on the Monday and they rang on the next day.. We were high risk 1:5 for DS and proceeded with an amino which came back clear.... I think the thing to remember is that the results need to be looked at as a whole picture rather than focusing on one part of the test... Good luck! And even if it is high risk it certainly doesn't mean that there is a problem... xxx
