Does anyone know if Goat Cheese is safe to eat during pregnancy???

a place by my work makes the absolute BEST goat cheese and grilled veggie sandwhich and i have been wanting to eat it since i woke up this morning!

Hiya hun i think goats cheese is unpastourised which i also dont think would be safe to eat in pregnancy, im not 100% sure but would give it a miss till u find out for sure

:hugs:

Info from the FSA website.

I personally would ask if it's pasteurised (majority of mass produced cheeses are nowadays) and if in doubt, i wouldn't.

Some types of cheese
Avoid cheeses such as Camembert, Brie or chevre (a type of goats' cheese), or others that have a similar rind. You should also avoid soft blue cheeses.

These cheeses are made with mould and they can contain listeria, a type of bacteria that could harm your unborn baby.
