I had my ultrasound yesterday & the technician was really great letting us know exactly what she was looking for.

But I just realized we didn't see her lungs at all. Now I'm worried (probably over reacting) that there is a problem.

We saw everything else. Spine, heart, brain, feet even her bladder & all looked ok. Do you think she just missed the lungs?

She probably just didn't point it out, I'm sure she actually saw everything she needed to :)

The lungs aren't fully developed at 20 weeks, so maybe that's why she didn't point them out?

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure they would've mentioned it if there was a problem.

I don't remember seeing the lungs at my scan either, but was told LO is perfectly healthy and right on track. I'm not sure if they can be seen at 20 weeks because I didn't see anything that looked even remotely like them during the scan, but I could see everything else she looked at or even moved past.

i dont think i have ever heard anyone say bout lungs. They majourly develop between 18-22 weeks. So maybe there not there. In children and adults they can collapse. So maybe there not in use?i could have it all wrong x

Funny enough. At my 20 weeks scan, I asked the same question. Where are his lungs? The technician told me that they are not developped yet and develop later.
