Hi ladies,

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows anything about taking the Pill after giving birth. I want to go back on it as soon as possible (I'm formula feeding so that isn't an issue). My question is, do I have to wait to have a proper period and let that happen, then wait another month and start on the Pill, or can I start taking it as soon as the first period arrives?

Thanks!

All pills may be different but the one I am on you take the first one on the first day of your period when stArting it after having LO xxx

I was put on the pill (cerazette) 13 days after having LO. My bleeding was pretty minimum due to having a section, but it's like I'm having a period now 5 weeks later.

I was told to start taking mine when ever i wanted but that i wouldn't be protected for the first 7 days. I'm breastfeeding though so could be waiting for months for a first period

With my pill you start taking it 21 days after birth, if you start taking it any later than that you wont be protected (must be to do with the amount of time it takes to ovulate after birth or something)

It advised to wait til 21 days til starting, then once you've taken a pack you'll have 7 pill free days.

All packs are diff though - mines are loestrin

Thanks ladies. So I guess I can start taking it on the first period. I want to get back on it as soon as possible, don't want any potential slip-ups!
