Question about Vitex...??

Ok my name is Laura! I am breastfeeding my daughter who is 11 mns. She nurses about 3 times a day. I ovulated on Oct 6 (when she was 4 months) and had a period Oct 20! Since then nothing! So I purchase Vitex. I am just curious if I should O before having a cycle on it?? Or if I could have a cycle and not O? Hubby and I (and our family) are going to the beach in about a 1 1/2 wks and I really want to start taking the vitex now but I am scared to take it before the beach trip if its gonna cause my period to come before I ovulate! Any help would be great ladies!
