We have an appointment with the HV on Monday, she wants to try and encourage Abbie to extend her concentration - I'm not so sure about this but I'll go along with it for now. My other 2 children used to flit too, but never needed help for concentration and just assumed it's what all toddlers do.
At pre-school they comment she doesn't settle at anything for more than a few minutes - unless she's outside. She always wants to be outside!
At home she also flits between things, unless she finds something that really interests her.
This week for example, she was given a Peppa Pig sticker book that she has "played with" for the best part of 2 days. These stickers have been holding hands, talking to each other and playing together!!! She has had a great time with them.
She has also done lots of other things, but kept coming back to the stickers.
So as the title really, if your child isn't interested in an activity do they flit between things?
If they do do an activity how long do they stick at it usually?
How do you encourage a child to stick at an activity longer?
