I have light brown hair and like to color it red. Before I was pregnant, I would get vibrant color and I loved it. I've always used the same brand of box dye. Ever since having my DD, it seems my hair resists the color and it doesn't get nearly as vibrant. Anyone else have this problem after having your LO?

I get blonde highlights and they definitely seem to go less blonde and more copper since having lo x

Could you be pregnant again?

Do you use different hair washing products/conditioner?

I know if I have been using something different for a while, my hair gets resistant. Since swapping shampoo to sulphate free and sometimes silicone free conditioner, it has helped.

Nope, not pregnant again. I dyed my hair today and the color is there, it looks like it tinted my hair rather than changed the color completely. And it's weird because it's been about 8 months since I last dyed it. I'll have to try using sulphate free shampoo and see if it helps at all...

Have you used a color filler in your hair before dying it? That may help. Also due to hormone changes your hair could have a new structure and cause it to be more resistant to color. Do you use the same brand? Maybe brand changes?

I use deposit dye, and haven't noticed any change yet. If anything, since adopting, it is staying longer because I don't get time to wash my hair nearly as often.

I'm going from mid ash blonde to jet blue black however. And it's usually every 6 weeks to recolor. I primarily conditioner wash, and toss some blue in the conditioner which helps. After some 15+ years, the ends are not fading.
