Question from ttc: i'm losing normal babies :-(

I don't know if you have already been checked for thyroid levels, but low thyroid can cause m/c. I had no idea, but my FS checks all women and mine were low so I was on thyroid meds for my pregnancy. xx

:hugs:So sorry for your losses.:hugs: I, too, have had 5 unexplained losses. those are the worse, it hard to fight the unknown. I went to see a fertility specialist, and although all my tests have come back normal, she put me on Lovenox (a blood thinner) and extra folic acid. After I started those, I had my daughter, so when I got pregnantagain, I started these drugsagain, and am now in my 34st week.
I am telling you this so you will have hope. I thought I would never have another baby, but my miracle came twice! Maybe bring up these ideas to your dr. I know some docs will not treat you if your results are unconfirmed. I am lucky that my Dr. was willing to try something, even though we havent discovered what was wrong.

Best of luck to you, I know how very hard this can be, NEVER give up hope!:hugs:

I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I don't have any experience with this personally but I do know my aunt miscarried every female pregnancy and only ever carried her 2 boys to term. Her female fetuses were also declared normal her body just wouldn't carry them and the reason for it still unknown. She does have 2 healthy boys though. I hope they can figure out what's going on and fix it for you quickly.

So sorry to hear you have went through losing babies. At any stage it is hard. :hugs: After 4 years TTC and 1 loss we got pregnant this summer using the steroid Dexamethasone. Have you had any hormone testing? We found out I had high testosterone, and the steroid helped us get pregnant within 3 months. We stayed on it until 14 weeks.. Dex is also used in immune treatment. As a PP said, it'd be a very good idea to mention immune testing and natural killer cells. I hope you're able to pinpoint the problem soon, never give up! Just when you're at the end of your rope is when the best miracles happen. :hugs:

Whitbit, many many congratulations on your pregnancy, what a heartbreaking struggle you must have had, so pleased everything is working out for you now and thanks for the advice x x x

Thanks for your replies everyone, they're giving me so much hope. I think for the next pregnancy i will ask my doctor to throw everything at it: steroids, blood thinning injections and aspirin. For the last pregnancy I was on 2 x injections of blood thinning Clexane and progesterone but it obviously wasn't enough.

Lolalou, thank you. I know the pain you must have gone through and just to think that a bit of medicine fixed everything...amazing! Many many congratulations to you!! x x x

how would doc know that at least 2 were healthy without testing them all? be aware not to trust an opinion just because it from a medical Pearson what evidence is this based on, i had to misses and not knowing why was terrible, i would have took anythin anyone told me on face value. as hard as it is can this be looked at as a positive as you can have healthy babies just look at what they can do to help you. have you been tested for pcos or hormone levels checked, good luck and you will get there soon xxx

Hi scrummy, well he is going off the same 'pattern' in what happened. I have had everything checked and everything came back clear. Did you do anything differently for this pregnancy?

My doc said if you miscarry 3, than usually it is a progesterone issue. They will put you on it before you even plan to conceive next time and keep you on it.

My acupuncturist had me on a chinese herb that prevents miscarriage. PM me if you want to know which one.(it cost about ten dollars) You take two caps in morning and two at night. I took it til 12wks. and every now and then if I felt crampy or anything, I'd take it that day too.

sorry for such a late reply, i did nothing different this time, except counselling to come to terms with my losses i think it may be twoddler about relaxing about things but who knows anyhow counselling really helped me x
