i have the maxi cosi infant carrier and was just wondering at what age did u remove the infant head and back support so it just left the normal seat? thanks!

We had to remove it at about 5-6 weeks as she looked really squished in there, was only when i took headhugger out I realised it was attatched to a ruddy big wedge support too, she much preferred going in carseat once it was out

xx

We are going to be taking it out soon. She is about 62cm long but is quite slim. She was 52cm born so always been pretty long. She is now 3m old and she definitely looks squished in there and her legs are constantly pushed against the seat of the car. I have left it as long as possible because in a crash the headhugger supports their head and neck.

I've still got my headhugger in, thinking of taking it out soon though as Dylans head looks a bit squished, he is 7 weeks.

Ive not seen any guidelines on it...

My LO was about 4 months old when I took it out. Although I then got another head hugger for her, which wasn't attached to a wedge! And now we have a Yondi head pillow to stop her head lolling about :)

I've been wondering the same. You can remove the foam wedge from inside the fabric, and I was thinking of doing this and just leaving the head hugger bit. Anyone else done this?

I removed ours this week - Rebecca is a little one though so it's a bit later than average. I think it says generally to remove it at 4-5 months but it depends on your LO.

I'm going to have a look at the head support bit, poppy fields, as I'm not keen on her head dropping when she falls asleep (looks really uncomfortable but she's still breathing!)

We took the foam wedge out at about 4 months. This gives you loads more room. Only just taken out the head hugger bit in the last few weeks and my LO is a pretty big boy.

Best to leave it in as long as possible as, as Lankydoodle says, gives extra support. Plus the wedge keeps them lying flatter. I found once the wedge was out he sat much more upright and we do have problems with his head lolling forward.

The instruction book says to take the wedge out at 4-5 months but to leave the head bit in.

Sofia was around 4.5 months, but she was (is) a small baby. Once I took it out she was so much happier in her seat!

Have just taken the wedge bit out (which is very easy to do) and replaced the head support in - will see tomorrow whether it helps!

we took it out at about 8 weeks, once her neck muscles were strong enough to stop her head flaffing about- her feet wer hanging out the end!!

How did you guys take the wedge bit out? x

its attached to the headhugger thing, underneath! u wudnt know it was ther til u took the head bit out!

thanks for all the replies ladies, i was just asking because my baby is 4 week old and when she is in the seat her head is really pushed down onto her chin and she looks really uncomfortable in it she doesnt cry or anything tho any1 eles found this?

We took ours out around 7-8 weeks as Callum was getting really squishedin it. He was 56cmwhen born so a longer than average baby!
