is there a product you can use to test for alcohol in your breast milk? I went out the other night for first time since Holly was born so I expressed my milk for 24 hours after that and threw it away, and she had formula (we're combi feeding anyway but need to keep my supply going!)
I just wondered if theres anything out there that would tell me when my milk is totally clear of alcohol, is 24 hours enough time to clear it all out? Thanks ladies :) x

I've drank and BF'd the same night. TBH, unless you get totally wasted, very little alcohol transfers through your milk.

Really? I thought it was rather comforting having peace of mind knowing your milk was safe?

Check out the above article. There is such a small chance of you passing alcohol to your baby through breastmilk. Kellymom is really a great site with a lot of good facts and tips. :flower:

thankyou ladies! :) i didn't realise so little alcohol was transferred but i'd still rather be on the safe side! Hey Roxy :D congrats on baby Nancy she's gorgeous! Isn't it lovely having a girl :D x
