Questions about 1st appointment

I have my first prenatal appointment at 11+4, which seems really far from now. Anyways, would they definitely do an ultrasound at that appointment? The receptionist on the phone said I would get to hear the baby's heartbeat. Is that even done via ultrasound? I am like dying to get a scan lol. Everyone i know that has been through a pregnancy had scans early.. around 6-8 weeks and they got a sonogram. Im going to be so sad if I don't get one..

Usually at my first appt, they do the pap smear, general exam stuff, then get to hear the baby on the doppler and I don't get an ultrasound until I am 20 weeks but every drs office is different.

At my 1st appointment, I was checked for weight,height,BP, internal examination and tried to hear baby's HB with doppler, That's it ...
Hope you get a u/s..every doctor practices differently so it's pretty hard to say... GL

My doctors I had to have an early scan (but baby played hide and go seek and had to have another one every week for 2 weeks to measure the growth and see if it was there)
but today was my technically first Prenatal visit. I got my scan listend to the HB on the U/S, got blood work, pap smear, uterus measured, and because of my slight case of overweight (im only over weight by 5 pounds -.-) they made me do an early test for gestational diabetes.
They usually do a scan your first visit & check the heart beat. But it all depends on what your OB is like.

Hope you get that U/S. I wont get the 12-15 U/S because I chose to opt out of the Down Syndrome test since no one in my family has ever had it or my Hubby's family.. SO I wont get a scan until 20 Weeks :/ and thats will be my last one :/
