Questions about m/c and ttc

So I just recently had a m/c (started on Sept.8) and ended (Sept.14) this is my first m/c so I don't know exactly how long after you start bleeding your suppose to stop. I was exactly six weeks along in pregnancy when lost . My dh wants to keep trying but I finally was able to talk to him about it this morning..I think I am ready, but just wanted to know when am I suppose to start my period after m/c? I was on Clomid and Metformin when I became pregnant last month, and I needed Provera to induce menstrual cycle..when would be a good time to wait until I call dr to ask for Provera? I also have been hearing that you become fertile after a m/c is this true? I know I have so many other questions but I just don't know what cycle day am I on? So I don't know where to start, what to think...This has been hard for me and I can't say I am truly afraid if I do become pregnant again, I will be terrified!

I was told that you shouldn't expect a period until about 6 weeks after your bleeding had started? And yes, I was also told very very fertile for about 4 months after but not to conceive until I had a period as lining is too thin??? I am so sorry for your loss everhopeful. This is hard, and very confusing as well as when to start trying again. I just called my dr and made an appt also for next week..but I would still like to hear what both of our drs say, and what experiences you go through. It is nice to talk to someone who understands where you coming from. Hope to keep in touch and good luck and lots of babydust to you.

Hey ladies i'm very sorry for both your losses. I had my MC on the 21st of august and got my first AF yesterday (the 18th of sept) so pretty much 4 weeks later as if it would be a normal period.

It all depends on how fast your HCG levels go down because you can't ovulate until they are under 5. The easiest way without doing a blood test it to use a pregnancy test. It will only turn out negative when there is the amount of hcg levels that i mentionned before. After that u should pretty much ovulate. Since i had a natural mc my doctor told me would could TTC right away without any problems. Your are supose to be even more fertile the first few months after but who know it could apply to some and not to others.

Here's to hoping for everyone that we all get sticky beans in no time

I had a natural m/c as well and I dr took my hcg levels four days after m/c started and they were at 5 already...I only bled for a week but it was extremely heavy and I did have some pretty strong cramps the first day...dh and I have been bd since Saturday. Would you by any chance know why they say you are more fertile after a m/c??

Seriously no clue why they say my doctor only told me that it has to do with the fact that your body was already in baby mode and all of a sudden there isn't a baby anymore so it's like ok what?? We need to get a baby in there ASAP so it makes you more fertile. Is it true or not who knows...i like to think that it is cuz then it wont take long for us to get our BFP's LOLOL

Hi Justhoping - I have no idea whey they say you are more fertile after a m/c but about 85% of all women fall pregnant within 3 months and have a healthy baby - you can google it but nobody seems to give the reason as to why. Some dr's guess that it has something to do with the body still thinking it is pregnant or having hormones etc still in place - not sure though? Well I am really hoping that we all get our BFP soon! I will believe that I am more fertile, maybe the hard believing will do the trick . Thanks ladies for the responses...So is anybody still waiting on AF? I'm still waiting on mine, I spoke to dr yesterday and she said she would see me next Wednesday to talk about if AF has came yet or if not and to talk about trying again...I have to say I am getting more positive as the days go by..this was my first m/c and today is the first day I actually felt like there is a chance for me to see that little peanut in my belly with heartbeat and all. fingers crossed and lots of baby dust to all of us!!

No worries justhopping it will defiently happen. I figure that we have to remain positive u know? There are so many women out there that have mc and manage to conceive and carry full term after that without problems.

It's just going to be sooo scary to not freak out over every little thing the next time i'm pregnant. I wish i could only find out i was at like 7 or 8 weeks and then that way not long left to go until the 12 week passing line!! Pffffff uh huh as if i'm not going to test on day 14 after my O date....definetly livin in freakin color huh?

Yeah staying positive is def one thing that is getting me through this.

And I know exactly what you mean about freaking out next time, every little twinge, pain, or new symptom I am going to be wondering if that means something bad..my poor dr is going to hate me next time I get preg..I will be calling for every little thing probably.(don't want to) but I probably will haha. I wish the same too, not to find out like a lot women do, when they are like eight weeks along haha, I probably won't even wait my 14 dpo haha, I will be testing 10 dpo..that's what I did this time around..oh man why is there so much waiting , it's gonna drive me insane.

jessy1101 I have to say I have no idea where my or how my system is like..my first day of my period before becoming pregnant was July 31 and then became pregnant they say around the 14 or 15th of August, m/c sept. 8th and now have not begun AF, just waiting for her...ugh...so I am confused on what to count my first cd..is it July 31 as cd 1..or how do I go about that..I normally know how to track it, but since I m/c I don't what to count and what not to count..maybe you can help...please

Hi ladies, I figured I'd chime in with my story/cycle. I had a mmc at 9 weeks august 10th - baby was 6 weeks and never saw a heartbeat. My hcg levels the day of my d&c were still at 27,000. It took 3 weeks for me to get a negative hpt. I got my AF on cd41 counting the d&c as my cd1.

I read you're more fertile after mc bc you have residual hormones in your body telling it to hold on to the egg.

Ok basicly you can count the first day of your actual mc as CD1. If your hormones go back to normal fast enough maybe you'll get your O date 14 days right after like a normal cycle (if your a 28 day type of girl of course). Then another 14 days and poof super duper wonderfully icky AF.

Some women tho took a long time to get rid of all their HCG from their system so maybe it will take u a bit longer for AF to come. It's easier to know when you have ur O date after your first cycle cuz before that your system is really wonky.

With the info you ladies gave me I am on CD 14..so would it be a good idea to use an opk now? Confusedprego that makes sense on how you explained why women are fertile after m/c..thank you for that.

Well you have to be carefull about using opks right now until you are 100% sure that your hcg is back to normal in your system. If not an opk will detect the hormone and make it seem like your ovulating.

The trick is to take a pregnancy test and make sure u get a BFN first. That way you'll know your levels are back to normal and your system will be able to ovulate

Ok so took preg test and BFN and took an ovulation test and no surge..but I have been cramping a lot lately and broke out, so I am thinking AF is coming soon...I usually get like this a week before. I have to say that I am actually looking for to AF so I can get started on this and hope for a sticky bean in Oct .
