Can an ovulation test detect HCG?

Yes, but I found my OPKs only became really dark later on, past five/six ish weeks I think. They weren't dark immediately

I tried this in my last pregnancy . Yes the opk were positive for me .i was about 4 weeks when i tested this out tho . Im not sure how early an opk would be positive for hcg

They do, but aren't as sensitive as a hcg test for detecting hcg. That said, I found out I was pregnant with my son when I got a positive opk at a time when I shouldn't have been ovulating.
