When I was pregnant with my son..he was SOOOOOOOOO active...every doctor I saw, and u/s technician ALL commented on how I had a little soccer player on my hands! lol!
Even as early as 12 weeks they were saying this!
When he was born...he was a fantastic baby...calm...and turned into a VERRRRRRYYYY active kid! (he's 2.5yrs old) non stop...very sweet and I love him to bits!
So now that I'm pregnant with my 2nd baby...this baby seems to be...verrrrrry quiet!!! I am 17 weeks(tomorrow)...and oh my goodness this kid doesn't move. I am still early...but with my son at this stage of pregnancy...he was VERRRY active. I have had 2 u/s's already and baby just lays there sucking its thumb, or playing with it's hands.
So my question is...does this mean this baby will be more quiet or less active? I am just curious...anyone had a big difference between their pregnancies and would like to share their experience?

My 2 were active on scans but not VERY active i wouldnt say as i didnt feel a great deal of movenent till late at night but my first my god he was sooooo unsettled when he was born woke every 2 hours till he was 10 months old!
2nd though slept right through after about a week.

im hoping there's nothing to this, because Poppy was the exact same, constantly wriggling!! she is now a complete nutter, always has been! never really liked getting held, super independent, walked at 9months 2 days, on the go ALL. THE. TIME. and this little one in my tummy is another hyper one!!

I hope it's true! My little one is kind of balanced so far..."plays" for a while and then gets loads of rest in. I'd love to have my first as an easy, calm child! How lucky would I be!? haha

Mine was active in the womb- he used to hurt like mad when he kicked all the time. And he is now a very active 2 and a half year old. This baby was very still for the scan and while I have felt movement its always around the same time of day and only for a small while. But obviously thats got a lot of time to change. So we will see!!
xx

thanks ladies, i guess I wonder this, because if I compare my son, to this baby at this exact stage of pregnancy...they are completely opposite personalities lol!!! But time will tell:)

Lol. I have wondered the same. Fin was CONSTANT at the first scan, CONSTANT when I started feeling movements and has been full on and constant since he got here. He is extremely active and always has been. MWs would comment how strong he was when he kicked the doppler... and sure enough he was a VERRRRY strong baby when he got here. Held his head up at something like 11 days old... he never really had a floppy newborn stage.

This baby however was so chilled at all the scans and even the movements feel less "ferocious"... This baby is a girl. So maybe I have a lovely gentle girl in there...

All good until her brother corrupts her hahah xxx

hahaha - sounds like my son!!! I'm hoping that I have a girl next...not that I wouldn't love to have another little boy...but one of each would be so special:)

How cute! His squeal is the sweetest!
My baby is pretty calm so far in the womb. I feel like he's already on a sleeping schedule, he kicks at around the same time everyday and close to the same spot in my stomach. He's never super active and quite calm. So hopefully he will be like that when he comes! It's my first baby:)

My son sounds a lot like yours. He is truly a hurricane :haha: He was also much the same in scans. Very active and wriggly, getting pics of him was no problem and once he started moving he kicked the crap out of my poor tummy :haha: This one is much quieter and very shy in scans. I was also 15kg heavier in my last pregnancy but still felt my son a lot more at this stage. It's to the point that I wondered if my placenta was on my tummy stopping me from feeling much movement. But it's pretty much in the same place it was with Bobby pretty low down (it moved up by third tri last time).

On team yellow so no idea about gender.

So far Jakey has been very lazy....at 12 and 15 week scans, he did almost the same thing....waved us away, rolled over, and stayed that way the rest of the scan. I suppose I'll have to see if he's gotten any more active with the 19 week scan on Friday. :)

lol - it's funny to me how my son was insanely active in the womb, but as soon as he was born and as a baby...he was calm, and slept really well...maybe he got all his energy out before D-day! lol! But then he turned a year old and he became Mr.Energy again! love it!
