just wondering what everyone does about this as winter is on its way?

do u cover the radiator up or just let your Lo learn?:flower:

Rowan's old enough to understand 'No!' and 'Hot!', so I'm hoping she'll be told. We can't make all our radiators inaccessible to her, so I'm afraid it's be told or learn the hard way.

i agree with above i cant block all my radiators so im hoping she will listen to No

for real fires I cover them up, for radiators I let him learn. They understand 'hot' pretty quickly! My son didn't get burnt by them last year and he was younger then so I definitely won't be covering them up this year.

Ryan usually understands when i say hot..for instance if i say hot on the tap he wont touch,he'll keep trying but wont actually touch.
Our radiators can't all be covered so unfortunately if he doesn't learn to leave it be he will also learn the hard way.

He did touch it once but it wasn't for long as his reaction made him pull his hands away.

I was thinking about this the other day. I think he's going to have to learn the hard way unfortunately x

Most of ours don't get really really hot but the ones that do I just hang a towel over them to minimise any damage - he does understand "hot" and although will pretend to touch he never actually does.

We have turned the accessible ones down to 2 but i do tell him they are hot and not to touch. He is just going to have to learn.

xx

ours dont go hot enough to scald but last year if she touched them we'd say hot and this year she knows whats hot and what she cant touch.

I've been wondering the same thing. We will get a cover for the one in the living room but the rest will be uncovered so like some of the other posters, he will have to learn the hard way!

I let her learn but she looves to tamper with hotness..literally she looves things that make her say ouch..Its never hot enough to burn her to ER status but I tap her to stop. She does once in a while go owwwwwwwwww hahahaha..idk

No and Burny are regular words in our house, she seems to be grasping it.

She touched the radiators and oven door when they were both hot and has learned the hard way.

He's learned the hard way by touching them. But they aren't hot enough to really hurt him.

Oh my goodness I never even thought about this until now  I cant cover ours. I guess maybe just have them on AM and PM as we aren't here during the day (except weekends) and maybe turn them down? Hopefully he will learn quickly not to touch.
