I'm so angry right now!
Sorry this is a bit pregnancy unrelated (well a lot) but I'm fuming!!!
So I've got 2 kittens, a boy and a girl and as they're 6 months old now me and my OH took Daisy (the girl) to the vets to get spayed (so she can't have kittens) but she had an umbilical hernia, meaning that the vets had to open her up down the middle rather than the side, as they normally do with a cat.
I spent hours last week phoning vets to get quotes, because we don't have a lot of money at the minute and the operation costs more because of her hernia.
So I decided to go with a vet because they gave me a quote of £50 altogether, I rang the vets twice to confirm the price, which they did at £50 both times, but when we went to pick Daisy up they told us the bill was £112 because the operation took longer than expected because her hernia was bigger than they anticipated :growlmad:
I'm glad that they have fixed her hernia, but charging us that much is ridiculous and when I challenged the receptionist she said it was her that I spoke to and she said it would be £50 on top, which she definately didn't! Or I'd have booked with another vet who was charging £75 for the full operation!!!
So now we're £112 down from our baby fund  which is money we could really really do with
Sorry for the rant, but there's no other way I can vent this and I feel so angry right now.

Oh dear, that was very good of the receptionist. She should have given you a breakdown of all costs, how much if there is a complication etc! tuh!
Hope the cats ok.
xxxxx

Thanks, she's fine :) she justs hates the cone that she's got to wear!

poor kitty!

how awful of the vets-unfortunately they can do that if theres other complications, and not anything u can do about it, happened to us with one of our horses, sadly animals are expensive - do u have pet insurance?x

Yeah, both our kittens are insured, but spaying is classed as "good pet care" so we can't claim for that on the insurance :growlmad:
Vets are gay!!!

:hugs: pets bills are soooo expencive my cousins dog got his back leg removed for £600 as the 1st vet messed his leg up xxxx
