Ive been doing lots of research, but end up getting all confused!

Which ones have you ladies decided to use? Or which ones do you already use for your other LO's if this isn't your first baby?

/thanks x

I'm personally going to use bumgenius all in ones or one size (still on the fence between them) and I'm buying a birth to potty kit. I used a one size nappy last time with poppers, wraps and an insert but this was over 8 years ago and the choice now is phenomenal. I chose bum genius aio because dh doesn't like reusables very much and so I have tried to make life as simple as possible for him as he will be sharing the role of main caregiver when I go back to work, otherwise he will end up buying disposables every time he's out. I've heard good things about these nappies.
I'll no doubt be greedy and supplement these with other fluff for using myself though

I used good ole' terrys squares with a nappy nippa and plastic pants/a wrap with my other two. Will be doing the same again this time.
I've tried a few of the shaped nappies and didn't get on with them, haven't found any as good as terrys. Plus this by far the cheapest option, and so quick to dry. Also good as if you're baby is sick then you can just use one to mop it up, especially if you're out and have nothing else to hand!!

Happy hunting - there's so many options!!!

xxxx

yup terries for me as well!!Got mine from ebay, have bought 36 so far and its cost me a pound a nappy. I cant bring myself to use disposables OR spend £300 on some fancy pre-fold... Its SO cheap to use terries, they wash on 40 degrees, and seriously I think I can cope with folding a nappy myself! Plus the AMAZING drying time does it for me every time. Why fix it if it aint broke I say!!!

I'm also planning on using terries too. I can't afford to buy one of the more expensive nappy kits and as I don't have a drier I need something that will dry on the line or indoors on an airer pretty quickly so terries seem like the ideal option for me x

I have a range, I love my BumGenius V3's and V4's :) and my AIO's. Never had leaks with them :)

ps... terry inserts wise.. I found biodegradable and flushable ones on ebay, again dirt cheap, nicer than keeping poop in the house for 2 weeks waiting for the bin men to come :s

i've gathered a huge range, mostly pre loved, as there is loads of money to be saved in doing it that way! i figured if i buy a few of most brands, then i can see what works best for me, and if any dont i can sell them on. i've read about some nappies not working for some babies with the fit etc, so it would be a bugger if you had a whole set in that type!
the natural parenting section on here is brilliant, :D

i bought each of different brand (Grovia all in one, softbums, blueberry, drybees) in total i've got 20 nappies

Thanks ladies :) The bumgenuis ones were shown at my antenatal class and they seem really good, but quite expensive initially, although hubby really likes the look of them..

Im swaying more towards the terry towels, they are so cheap and seem that they will do the job in just the same way.. My mum used them on me and my sis and said they were briliant... The only thing my hubby doesn't like is the plastic pants bit that goes over the towel and wants something funky?! Are there funky wraps that you can get?

I'll pop over to the natual parenting section, i only ever stick to the trimesters! :-/

Thanks again ladies! :) x

I have a few different ones, like veganmum2be mostly preloved. I do have some terry squares (which I bought for DS but didn't end up using) and Disana tie ons mainly for emergencies. I have gone a bit OTT on the pretties though

I'm having a little girl so her bot bot will be covered in tights and frilli knickers!!

Weenotions have some ace wraps! :)

I have terries too and I do like them but I prefer my cloth nappies and they have a high resell value so I know I'll be getting some of my money back

yeah there are some cool looking wraps :)
i've tried to get mostly one size wraps for my terries as they are more cost effective than the sized ones, and much nicer than plastic pants.
one brand of one size wrap is bambinex :) xx

Oh and blueberry coveralls! They're nice and one sized :)

we've got quite a few to try - tots bots bamboozles, tots bots stretchies, diddy diapers and some more which i can't remember.. :dohh:

i wish we'd ordered this - but i already had a nappy bag and the bamboozles so figured it was a waste of money! x

I'm with the other girls on this one!! Terries all the way with flushable liners and booster pads if needed. Then a funky wrap over the top - I've got a few different ones in a range of sizes. Nappy bucket is in the bathroom with teatree oil ready for any deodorising required! liners will be flushed and each terry brushed and rinsed before going in the bucket then once a day washed and dried. Wraps dont always need washed if its just one little wee!
Initially I planned on using cottontails nappy laundry service, but to be honest, get yourself a load of terries, either new or off ebay, wash and dry them so they are nice and fluffy, get some liners off ebay and you're good to go and its so cheap.
And just think each little baby wee wont take hundreds of years in landfill to go away!!!!
Good luck, I'm sure its worth it!!!! :) xx

There are some fab wraps. I would love to go with the terries, there's nothing cuter and I could fold them for my brother when I was 9. My dh is a tool when it comes to reusables though, he thinks just having to wash them makes them inconvenient so you can imagine what he's think if he had to *gasp* fold them too. I remember my mum folding some in advance for my dad because she had to go out for a few hours.

I've ordered the mixed trial pack from Fill Yer Pants. Will probably get some terries too and see which work best for us before going for a full set :)

Bexx - love the new avatar mate :flower:

hi - was going to go with terrys but got given a whole set of motherease one size, including two different sized wraps! i do need to get hold of some boosters, nappy bucket etc but i've read nothing but good stuff about reusables. i was brought up in terrys and my mum swears by them - money was pretty tight back then and they were really the only option. according to some potty training is easier with babies who've been in reusables, essentially, because they get 'wet'. they learn about the sensation of weeing and the result!
