Well my boy used to have his afternoon nap at 2 but I can't get him to sleep until half 3 & he'll sleep for an hour ish sometimes less & wake up grumpy. Also this morning he wouldn't go down for his morning nap, so we went to play group and he fell asleep on way back at half 11 and slept till 1, woke up hungry and had dinner & he's sooo happy!!!!!

I am also thinking that 1 nap a day might help him sleep better at night?! As he either wakes for the day at 4 or wakes about 1am and then comes to my bed at sleeps till half 5 6oclock.

I think he has too much sleep in the daytime and this is why he wakes up so early?x

Sounds like 1 nap is the way to go, Sophie has only had 1 nap for about 2/3 months now and sleeps well at night, and wakes up refreshed from her nap.

xx

I'm having the exact same issues as you right now and tried 1 nap for the past 2 days - goes to sleep much easier at night but is more cranky in the day. The girls say this will pass with time :hugs: Try it?

I might do thanks girls... Hope to hear some more opinions & experiences xx

We went to 1 nap right before 13 months. Megan was fighting 2nd nap. So we went to 1 midday nap. The first month especially she had a big dip in energy when her morning nap used to be. So we cuddled and read books and had a down time.that seemed to really help. She had an early lunch and I put her down for nap a bit earlier than my goal was. Just to help her transition. There was a period of about a month that it seemed like 2 naps was too much but 1 wasn't enough. I decided to keep her on the one nap though so she would get used to a schedule vs some days 1 nap and some days 2 naps. I think that would have been too confusing for her.... But I've heard of others doing that.
