I just had a mc and have not gotten af. I tested today and i got a bfp. i am so excited by SOOO SO SO nervous. my doctor told me to wait for one full cycle and (obviously) we did not listen. Does anyone know if my baby is at risk or have a similar story??

I had a natural miscarriage very early and then got pregnant without a period in between with this one. I think if you had to have a d&c or had to have a shot because of an ectopic pregnancy that there is more of a risk to your body but if it was a natural miscarriage I have read that you are actually more fertile right after. Seems to have been true in my situation.

You should be fine. My first miscarriage, I had a d&c and got pregnant 2 weeks later (we were told to wait 2 months). We had a healthy baby girl and she is now 8!
Just to put you at ease, you can ask your doc to check your uterine lining. But, your body would not have ovulated if it wasn't ready for a baby!!!

Drs like you to wait because it makes it easier to date a pregnancy, it also gives you time to greive. But I have read that women who get pregnant within 4 months of a miscarriage are less likely to have a repeat mc. I don´t know why, but it sounds like good news for you. If your mc was due to abnormal development and not a clotting factor or uterine problem then there is no increased risk in this pregnancy. Good luck!!

Thank you everyone! My mc was just a "typical" mc that happens before 8 weeks. It was a natural mc and did not require a d&c. I appreciate all of your kind words. I am just continuing to pray that this one is okay. Also, very nervous to call my doctor... Hopefully she's not too mad at me for not following her advise!

My doctors told me that the recommended wait is just to give you time to grieve. You will be just fine - congratulations!!

I had a natural mc in January, it took 12 days total before I stopped bleeding and then well I started birth control and had to take antibiotics lol I didn't even got to finish the pills because we found out I was pregnant again.

So far everything is going great, already saw beanie and heard the hb

Congratulations! This was what I was hoping for after my m/c in December but it wasn't to be. I am certain everything will be fine, I read that your uterus is particularly fertile and well set up as your body is used to being pregnant. Keep us up to date with everything, I'm really pleased for you

I am in the exact same situation, I had a MC at 8 weeks and now 7 weeks later am pregnant again. because it is so soon, it does make me feel a lot more worried as I have not had a normal pregnancy to compare the pains to, only 3 prior miscarriages.

Everything seems similar to the last pregnancy, which when I started having those pains people kept telling me, its your womb adjusting, or the egg implanting. I dont know whether I am feeling paranoid or not.

Did your doctor give you the "okay" to try again? Have you called him/her yet? Just wondering if I will need to see my doctor earlier than normal. Still waiting to make my appointment because I am in disbelief about this pregnancy. I don't want to jynx anything!

I'm in the same situation. 6 week M/c on 3/11/2012 and found out last Friday, I'm expecting again. I called the office and talked to the nurse this morning and just asked for blood work. She looked into the file to confirm they had done blood work to make sure I was near zero (which they did) and she called in the blood work form. I go at 4pm today.

I was terrified when I found out. From what I read online, as long as you didn't have a D&C, it doesn't raise your risks anymore than waiting. I know my RE would prefer you wait in case there was any tissue left but again I think that's when it's much later in your pg.

Do you know why you have to go in for blood work now? is it just to confirm the pregnancy or to test you HCG levels again?
