After a horrible miscarriage and complications, I'm pregnant again 
. Only 6 weeks and a couple of days, but I was chatting to DH last night about birth and so on (we were talking about his stepsister who's pregnant), and he basically expressed surprise that I wanted him there - I think he was expecting to be in another room waiting for news. I told him it is important to me that he be there, but he is really resistant to the idea. In his words, he doesn't want to "see that horror movie". Please don't judge him too harshly, he is going on what his BIL and stepsister have told him (she's due to pop any minute, and that "horror movie" comment was their review of the birth video they were shown in antenatal classes) and some fears of his own. He's convinced there'll be blood everywhere, including all over the baby (he says there must be, as "that's why they wash it"), that I'll be screaming in terror/pain, that there'll be lots of needles around (he's phobic), etc, and that it'll totally scupper our sex life if he sees me like that.
I want to show him at least one (preferrably several to get the message home) home birth video where there's minimal blood, no needles, and generally nothing too scary going on. I've seen some beautiful birth videos before, but can't find them now. Searching just comes back with photo montages (beautiful, but I think seeing the whole main event unedited would be more helpful or he'll argue they've not photographed the icky bits) or water births where a tiny drop of blood turns the whole pool pink, which'll freak him out.
Can anyone help? Does anyone know of any videos I could show him? And since he's now freaking me out, can anyone reassure me? lol
