Ok...wow. I was going through a site of recent product recalls, and found this:
https://wemakeitsafer.com/Beeni-Baby-Hats-with-Pacifier-Holder-Recall-807811-414208

Ummm.. just by LOOKING at that picture wouldn't you just... not feel 'right' about that?? I mean, I get it, hubby and I were DESPERATE sometimes to get baby to keep the binky in her mouth...but wow. This just seems like total common sense.

thats crazy! who would think to do that?

:dohh: some people really come up with the most daft ideas

Yeah I don't see why this was even made. Just ridiculous!

It almost seems more like an inappropriate joke than a real product. What were they thinking? :dohh:

Uh wow... some people's stupidness never ceases to amaze me

Agreed. I mean, like I said, sometimes hubby and I would joke that we WISHED we had something like that... but we wouldn't have ever ACTUALLY done it!! Seems like the moment you put this on your baby, you'd take it right off after looking at it.

(Hubby did, however, scotch-tape the binky to dd's chin one day to take a picture and show mommy... he thinks he's sooooo funny....)

So I can see having a little string there to attach to the pacifier so that when they spit out the paci, it doesn't fall on the floor. You know, like those little clips you can get that clip onto their shirt. But I just wanted to rescue that model baby from that horrible hat!!

On the plus side... it has a chin strap too, so the hat never falls off and the paci never has a chance to fall out! I'm sure its as comfortable as it is practical. *roll eyes*

Oh, I totally use the pacifier clips... they save me from treasure-troves of lost binkies, or constant running to the bathroom to wash them off... but this was a bit much -- lol.

On another note: So I JUST figured out that "drop side cribs" are the cribs with the rail that slides down! :( My crib!! It's not even that old, and now I won't feel right unless I buy a new one. I had no idea they were causing so many deaths... and when I'd see comments about 'drop-side cribs', I thought they were something different... like with a rail that would fold out or something. I'm SO bummed that I need to buy a crib now.

Just use duct tape. It's cheaper.

Robin-- you should patent that idea. Seems like just about anything sells....

I was thinking about selling caulk and re-labeling it "Diaper-Seal: Never Change a Stinky Diaper again!! If you can't smell it, you don't have to change it! Just squeeze this patented seal around the leg-holes and waist of baby's diaper. Make sure it's adhered to the skin, good and tight, with no breaks in the seal. Then...voila!! Don't worry about changing baby's diaper for at LEAST two weeks!"

I would use pacifier clips, except all of the ones I have are with those big animal heads on them, and they get in the way when trying to snuggle with the baby. By the time I realized that such a thing as a normal clip without a cutesy decoration on it existed, my son only spit his pacifier out if he no longer wanted it, so I didn't worry about it.

And seriously Jackie.... caulking for that?? Again! I'd use duct tape... seems like it would be easier to apply more in case the weight of a week old diaper starts to pull itself down!

Good point. Maybe I'd partner with Robin and sell it in kits. Stage 1: Duct Tape.. last approx 1-2 weeks. Stage 2- "patented diaper seal" to seal up any places that the duct tape is bursting and allowing smells to leak through. Lasts 2-3 weeks.
