Hi all my 7 week old baby girl has just had surgery 2days ago for pyloric stenosis I was just wondering how long it took others to notice a difference after the surgery as my little one is still throwing up some milk did anyone else have this after and how long does it go on for? Thanks x

Hi, my LO had it, he had the op at 4 wks, he took to his feeds well after and was only sick once which was 2 days after. It did take him a while to get back to normal though he was constantly hungry and very unsettled for about 3 wks.

Thanks yer she's still throwing up maybe she needs smaller feeds she's drinkin 4 oz every four hours but prob throwin up maybe a ounce just wondered if anyone else had there baby's throw up for a few days to  x

I dont think there are many others on here who have been through it actually as I was also searching for some advice after the op and only found one other girl whose LO had been through it last year, don't know if she's still posting in baby club and may see this but I remember she said her LO did continue throwing up for a few days after the op.

By the the way 4 oz every 4 hours doesn't sound like too much to me, James was reintroduced to his feeds on 3 oz every 3 hours but he was stil hungry then health visitor told me to demand feed to fatten him up so he was all over the place at one point he had 7 oz followed by another 7 2 hours later then another 4 an hour after that!

Aw thank for the advice yer found forums about it but not on recovery after the op well il giv it a few more days and see if it gets any better x

Try PMing tigerlady :flow: her boy had the op

My son had it and my cousions LO had it.

For my son the difference was instant, but he still had reflux, but so so mild in comparision to the PS. My cousions baby it took a couple of weeks.

How is your LO now?

shes great thankyou took a couple of days but she dont throw up now only milky dribbles so proud of my baby girl :)
