Actually low progesterone CAN cause early losses. Progesterone is needed to keep your luteal phase (the time from ovulation to AF arrival) long enough for baby to implant properly. If your LP isn't long enough for that to happen, you can have a chemical pregnancy. So progesterone actually isn't a bad idea, especially if your levels have tested on the low side during pregnancy. That's not saying there's not something else going on but it is still a possibility.
Crow-I'm so sorry for your losses. I've had a few losses that took me by surprise after a 'good news' scan just days/hours prior. It's gut wrenching.
