Red head babies

To all mums who have a red head for a bubba.

Do your babies have dark eyelashes?
Eva has black eyelashes and i wonder if it's a baby thing or if she's going to be lucky and have red hair and dark eyelashes. If she does it would be the ONE thing she has inherited from me so i'm really clinging to it at the moment, i'm just worried it's like a baby thing like blue eyes and that they can change.

Do your babies have freckles? if so when did they get them?
I'm a pretty indoors kinda person and it's been really cold the last 6 months so Eva hasn't seen much sun then at 9.5 months i took her on a holiday and we went to the beach and a few days to a week later i noticed she has a FRECKLE!! on her thigh. Def's not a birthmark or mole or food :-/

Zander is red headed his eyelashes match his hair and no freckles that I know of but we arent outside much...I have dark auburn red hair and my eyelashes and eyebrows are black so people tend to think I color my hair but its all natural and I have tons of freckles on my shoulders mostly but some on my face the black eyelashes may mean her hair will be a darker red though just a thought

maybe! Her hair isn't the fiery red kind, i can see your sons hair is VERY red, lol that picture is adorable, if he hasn't got freckles yet maybe this is a random one and the rest will come later in childhood, her father the red head is covered in them. I thought she might even be more of a strawberry blonde but then the chances of the dark eyelashes staying i thought were less.

But you have red hair and black eyelashes so it's obviously possible!!! this excites me very much! i've been so bummed she hasn't inherited anything from me, not it looks or personality or anywhere. So if she's inherited my thick black eyelashes it will make me very happy!! as it's one of my features i actually like.

here is a pic of Zanders...in most pics he looks like he doesnt have eyelashes my brother also has long thick black eyelashes with red hair he got the girly eyelashes mine arent as thick and long

I teased my husband our entire relationship about his red hair so i think deep down he thinks i'm lying about loving her red hair, but i really do love it!

I have this new love for red hair. It's SSSOOOOOO gorgeous!!! especially the red red like your sons! i'm in love with that red. I think Eva is going to end up with a wishy washy red. boooooo

OH QUICK QUESTION!!! are all your kiddies to the same daddy? if so how many ended up with red hair and how many didn't??? i have no red hair in my family (although my dad claims that some of our distant relatives are from Scotland) and i'm curious to know if i have any chance of having a kid with my colour hair.

I have 2 boys (same daddy )my oldest has brown hair no red to it at all! its just like his daddys and then my youngest has the bright red hair!
my dad has dark red hair and both me and my brother have the same dark red with my brothers being just a bit lighter and my mom had medium brown hair now gray
my husbands mom has red hair and my husband has red in his beard but not in his hair! Ive heard you have to have the red headed gene on both sides of the family to get a red head Im not sure what the truth to that is but we just had it running through both our families and we still werent expecting it! lol

I don't have a red headed LO but my mom has really red hair and my brother and sisters' dad doesn't have red hair, my brother the eldest had fiery red hair like my mom but my other 2 sisters and myself never got red hair so its definitely possible you might have LO's with your hair colour.

i have tried looking into genes and stuff and it's all so stupid and confusing and if you look at it properly it's not black and white nor simple.

but these stories are all sounding good to me :-D thanks girls

My 6 sibling and both my parents have very dark brown / black hair. My dad's side of the family have strong Maori genes and we all have the thick, blackish, frizzy, maori hair so even though my husband is a red head we all expected my genes to outdo his, but then they didn't which was a total surprise!!! i know one of my dad's distant relations was a white New Zealander who had scottish origins but i've never ever ever seen ANY relatives on dad's side with red hair.

This is me with all of my brothers and sisters, not the most flattering photo, but see what i mean? my whole family (same parents for all 7) have really strong Maori jeans, some of my siblings are quite dark. Although Zahra in the front is quite white and her hair is more medium brown. Who would of thought one of us would have a RED HEAD!!!

my LO has red hair! and very light eyelashes lol. we were expecting a blonde. DH and i were both blonde growing up. but the 1 person in either family with red hair, is my grandmother. who is thrilled that Cara inherited it!

that said im sure it'll be a reddish blonde that slowly changes to a dark reddish brown. considering DH and i were both blonde while growing up and are both brunette now!
