Is anyone else suffering from this?

Ive started to get it quite bad, and end up being violently sick in the middle of the night. Ive started eating earlier and sipping milk before bed, but it doesn't work...

Im dreading tonight and already starting to feel sick.. my doc has given me gaviscon, Im hoping this helps..Does anyone else have any tips or advice?

Thanks :flower:

Edit: Oppps, posted this in the wrong section, im not in 3rd tri yet... sorry ladies! although maybe you may have more experience of this?!

ahh hun i feel for u. ive had it the whole way thru pregnancy and its only got worse i hate to say, im now due in 4 wks and its not eased!
gaviscon didnt do anything in easing it for me i ended up having to have zantac but dont have too many of them in a day as MW told me not to take them too often, I only had to taker one at night or before going to bed.
Out of everything they say helps, nothing did im afraid.
i now sleep upright and dont eat any later than 2hrs before bed, dont eat spicy food or mince as that makes it worse and i stay away from fruit juice esp. orange.
also they say not to drink with dinner and sit upright when eating.
I hoipe u dont suffer from it like I did as its a nightmare. Im currently waiting to go see dr as MW referred me as its getting so bad im lacking sleep hugely! luckily i start mat leave in a week.

mines has got worse these last few weeks, actually was sick in my mouth through the night. i find sleeping propped up and plenty gaviscon helps... oh and eat little and oftenxx

Ive found mine really bad again in the last couple of weeks.

I have heard the sweets Refreshers are supposed to help although haven't had a chance to try them yet.xx

Thanks ladies for your advice.. Its horrible isn't it, I dread what I eat in the evenings, if it carries on Im gonna be right off food :(

Its interesting what you say about mince kirstylm, I had spag bol last night, and was really sick..I can understand the tiredness too, I was up for an hour feeling sick, then another hour being ill in the bathroom and then takes me ages to settle again. Hope the doc can help you further, I dont know how you have managed this far!

Scotsgirl, defo have to learn to sleep sitting up, I always keep wiggling down..

n14boo, will have to try refreshers, willing to give anything a go to be honest!

Thanks ladies :flower:

Yep I'm suffering too. I go through one of those huge bottles of gaviscon in a week. Sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't but it's becoming increasingly more difficult to swallow - no idea why!?! I was really sick on Friday night - think I probably ate my dinner too quickly :p must confess I'm looking forward to the day where I don't feel continuously sick :-(

really hope u don't follow in our footsteps! X

I only get Reflux when I lay down but it is horrible waking from sleep throwing up, sometimes I just wake choking up acid though. I have found the only thing that works for me is not eating after 7pm (I go to bed at about 3am though ) unfortunately that is really hard!.

I hope yours get's better hon!.

It's probably the tomato based sauce rather than the mince.. tomato is a known trigger.

I get this too, it sucks, I try not to eat in the evenings but I tend to feel quite sick by bedtime if i'm hungry- catch 22! I pop fruit flavoured rennies like sweeties all evening long too.

Ask your doc for zantac, it's supposed to help, I cant take it though.x

I did with my son and now with this pregnancy. Gaviscon is my knight in shining armour! Really feel for you! Know how awful it is chick ):

I usually have some pepto bismol or tums when I get bad heartburn. I made sure to ask my OB before using them.

Experienced this last night - woke up with sick in my mouth and throat on fire :-( it's absolutely hideous! Not a happy bunny.

Yep, so much so, its driving me nuts!!! Im finding it has gotten much worse from 35 weeks too. Gaviscon is my best friend at the mo...

Not much will shift it now, but I do find milkshake and yoghurts work for the short term and not eating late at night.

I do, I hate it. It started just a few weeks ago... I noticed first that when I woke up that my throat was on fire. Every morning.. I kept wondering why I had a sore throat that would get better during the day or even go away, but would be incredibly sore and firey when I got up inthe morning... Then one night I woke up and my mouth was full of acid... It made me sick... ugggghhhhh.... blah... disgusting....

Luckily it mostly only happens when I am lying down, acid cums right up into my throat... so horrible... :(

ive been the same, just these last couple of nights, ive not been able to sleep, I can't have gaviscon, I can't get it down, its horrid, but i had the worst nights sleep last night

grrr, hope LO hurries up!
