Reins

I use them with my LO. We where on holiday recently and i couldnt work out why i kept getting filthy looks, untill a local came up to me and asked what are they (his reins) So i explained, and he said oh, they are very bad, and here we only put dog on this.
It upset me abit because id rather keep LO safe, not running into roads, running off getting lost. I dont think their bad at all, maybe different cultures but i cant see how its safe to let a 2 year old run off on their own x

Gosh I bet u were really upset! I totally wouldn't have been prepared for somebody to say something like that. I think it's far worse when you see LOs darting across car parks and the like and parents screaming after them to 'STOP!!' Surely reins are the safest way to control children who don't understand the dangers around them? Perhaps we need to have a pre-prepared cutting statement that we can throw back at these imbeciles?!? Lol xx

Whoa! Where were you on Hols?? I've never even heard of nyone being against reins before?!

We where in Tunisia. I noticed though toddlers from their where just let to roam around the place. A little girl was staying in our hotel she was tunisian and i think maybe 18 months? Her parents would go eat dinner and let her wander round where ever she liked. The people over their went crazy for my LO, theyd pick him up kiss him and take him to show everyone. Totaly different to over here, maybe thats why. Ive never had any comments about LOs reins over here x
