Had to go to the doctors yesterday after bending down and tearing the muscles surrounding the left hand side of my ribs, every movement i make is just tearing the muscles even more, the muscles are incredibly swollen and painful and the best news is they wont repair themselves until after my bubs is born as my uterus is putting pressure on them.

I'm gutted that i'm going to spend the rest of my pregnancy like this, i didn't sleep at all last night as everytime i turned in my sleep i woke up crying, i ended up sleeping on the couch as my poor hubby had to be up at 4am for work and i kept waking him up :(

Painkillers aren't doing a thing and heat and cold pressure only brings temporary relief. I feel at a loss, this will be my last pregnancy and i feel like i've ruined it now :(

I'm sorry hon. I live with moderate to severe pain on a daily basis, so I understand pain all too well. It does indeed ruin things. I would just try to take it easy if you can, and get your other kids to help as much as possible. Massive hugs. PM me if you need to chat.

Thank you hon, i can't believe how painful it is, walking, moving my arm - i'm dreading having to sneeze! I'm very lucky that my kids do help out all the time, i'm usually very active and hate sitting still but i'm too scared to move and my poor dog is wondering why he missed his walk yesterday. I could honestly sit and cry right now

Poor you i am in the same boat i have a torn a muscle in my stomach and have been told that it will not heal properly until baby is here and the pressure is off of it. however i have found that lately the pain has gotten better after several weeks of just rest.

i hope you find away to get comfortable in your last few weeks of pregnancy hugs x x x

You poor thing. I tripped on the beach at 4 months and my husband caught me by the arm, but ripped my muscles down one side whilst doing so. It was absolute agony for about 2 weeks but healed as baby was smaller. We were abroad so the donator gave me a paracetamol drip, but that didn't help at all. Have you tried codine? You can get a prescription from the doctor and its working quite well at taking the edge off my back pain at the moment.

Oh hun :(. I have separated stomach muscles from my pregnancy with DS, they have been tearing during this pregnancy which is quite sore. But the pain comes and goes, especially as baby moves position. Hopefully you will get some relief too!

Past day or two my ribs seemed a little less sore until last night when I woke up in agony, off back to the doctors today see if they can suggest anything. I'm really not enjoying my pregnancy at all now :(

Thank you for the replies everyone x

You poor thing! I feel for you I hope the doc can give you something to help ease the pain xx

Aww I really feel for you. Big hugs. If the doc does give you co coda mol. Look into the side effects first I was given this for my back when I saw midwife a week later she recommended I stop taking it as it contains morphine, she said if take it for more than 3 days towards end of pregnant baby will have o be kept in hospital and monitored to make surfeit hasn't become addicted z

awww :hugs: I hope that you can feel better soon, maybe a brace or support band can help? xxx
