My doctor asked me if I had pain under my right breast. I didn't, but she seemed like it would indicate something if I did since she specifically asked about that area. I would call the doctor.
I was having some pain in that same area! Just had an appointment w/ the midwife though and she said it was normal and was just everything pushing upward on my ribs and to just put a warm compress on it if it was hurting too badly.
I get pain on on my left side and asked my midwife she said left side is likley baby (which it was he had his butt pushing into my ribs. But she also mentiond that if the pain were on my right side it may be somthing else. I would call your Midwife or OB to be sure.
Hi I had this last week and 2 weeks before that, it's easing this week
Sleep with a pillow on the right side (pillow kind of supporting it).
Paracetamol before bed and whenever it gets bad (every 4- 6 hrs).
I've grown since the ribs started and think it was due to a growth spurt of baby/pushing ribs out a bit). It didn't happen with my first baby.
I'm 25 weeks
Hope it gets better soon.
Xxxx
I'm sort of the same except mine is normally on the left. It started a week or two ago. Different positions make it worse. I find it worse if I'm sitting in the same position for extended periods (great when my job is office based). I think it's everything expanding.
I went to the doctor last week so I was also 22 weeks and asked him about my horrific off and on rib pain and he had just done an US and told me she was kicking me in the spleen..lol
He told me that babies will kick us there and it causes rib pain and they could kick you in the back and cause leg pain, etc..just more joys of being pregnant.
He said normal things can go wrong where we might have to have surgery.
But not to worry to much unless its non stop and uinbearable
i went to the doctor on tuesday and doc felt my rib and saw my pain said because im very petite baby doesnt have loads of space, and belly growing outwards so its pushing on the ribs upwards.
paracetemol was only suggestion, that and sit upright at work (i realised i do hunch over my laptop sometimes)
