Hey fellow bumps

I just wondered when other moms to be had their risk assessments at work? I'm currently 18 weeks & I've not had mine yet. It's actually been cancelled twice!! I do manual work alone & I'm finding it so tiring & I suffer a lot of dizzy spells so I don't feel safe but I'm unable to find any guidance of when risk assessments should be carried out. I know with my own staff in the past I have always done 4 every 6 weeks or so.

Any thoughts or advice would be great.

Thank you muchly xxx

My colleague didn't get one until around 22 weeks. She wasn't impressed, but that was mainly her line manager's fault.

I have set the ball rolling for mine already and my line manager reckons he's going to do it in the next week or so. We shall see!

Problem I have (not sure if it's the same elsewhere) is that my workplace usually won't do anything until they get the MatB1 certificate and when I read that, you don't get it signed until 20 weeks!! That's FAR too late for any risk assessment in my opinion. Should be done at 12 or when you're happy to tell people I think!

I had mine yesterday at 22 wks. I am a teacher so not much in the way of dangers for me however I wouldnt b impressed if I did your job. Lone working and a lot of manual work could b dangerous. I'd chase that up and when they ask about stress and your job... tell them the wait for risk assessment stressed u out no end xxx

I had mine at 11weeks when I told them officially. My line manager said he then has to redo it about once every 6 weeks.

I had mine at 8 weeks (had to tell them soon as i found out as my job is quite active) ive got another one at 20 weeks x

I had mine at about 13/14 weeks and was told if I thought I needed another one then just to let my line manager know.

I had one at 14 weeks and then a review yesterday. They said they would review it now every month but if i had any probs to let them know as soon as. They are really quite good with the H&S side at work.

Am annoyed at my work about risk assessments. I am a cleaner early hours of the morning and work alone till 9.30

It is all go for me and I have to carry alot of things

I told work at 12 weeks and my supervisor told me they had to do one
2 weeks later she gave me the risk assessment forms and told me to look them over and she will do them with me in a week

That was about 9 weeks ago and I still go forms and nothing has been done and am nearly 22 weeks

What upsets me more is I have had time off cause have been bleeding and my back is so sore I can't get out of bed and when I came back they still not done it

7 weeks till maternity leave just sure I can make it (sorry for rant just think it is bad)

When I first told them at 12 weeks, but I'm the manager of the branch and I got my deputy to do it! Lol! It's supposed to be every 4 weeks in my company!

I've had 3, it's my company policy to do one in every trimester. Although I did have to chase up my first one a few times and my last one was done a bit early. Thankfully the H & S women that done mine was a star.

I've not had one done yet. Will mention it to my boss again :winkwink:

A Risk Assessment should be completed as soon as you have informed your employer in writing that you are pregnant.
You do not need MatB1 form for this.

So if you were 6 weeks in high risk job and told them one would be done then.

Recommendations state these should be reviewed every month or so unless there are changes before this time when it should be changed as necessary.

Demand you have a risk assessment. Request it in writing and mention cancellation of appointments. Request that this is kept on your HR file and keep a copy for yourself and the date it was handed in.

HSE.gov.uk has some advice but also ACAS. It is a legal requirement for individual RA to be completed WITH YOUR INPUT!

There is also nothing stopping you from completing your own and handing to your line manager. Again ask for a copy in your file, them to sign it off and keep a copy yourself. If anyone wants one just PM me. I ve got blank ones and ones filled in for different job roles. I deliver Risk Assessment training. x

i am 15 weeks and i still haven't had mine and i do alot of manual work, apparently they are doing it tonight so watch this space.

i was supposed to have mine as soon as i told my boss with was at 6 weeks, i am now 16 weeks and i still havent had it

I haven't had one and I probably won't....

My job has no risk involved well it did but theres no way my boss or colleagues will let me do my original tasks....they's have me in cotton wool if they could!!

I dont have one yet but I was told that they will do one once they recieve the MatB1 certificate , which my midwife will give me at the week 25 appointment.
