You might be right Sara...think I need to go to a local sling meet to try some out!

xx

I've had 2 friends that had them and just loved them!! Said they were the best slings they had tried

I have a Rockin' Baby Ring Sling and I love it!!! Use it all the time for short trips in the malls or just getting E from the car to different locations (Gramma's apartment, libary).

I've also used it for bf

Oh. and the pockets are sooooo handy! I've been known to carry my wallet and cell phone in it instead of a purse.

hi, i was on you tube and theres a bunch of different slings they teach you how to make yourself. pouch sling, ring slings, slings with no rings etc. just type in youtube.com and put in baby sling instructions...... saves you some money and do it the way you want

Thanks for all your replies girls!

Does anyone know the maximum weight these slings can take?

x

Looks lovely !
Im not really a ring sling girl iv only tried a few and the only one iv not sold on has been on holiday with a friend for over 2 months now and cant say i miss it ( oops) but that looks gorgeous ! So i dont know which are the bestest, but i do know wrap conversion ringslings are always popular !
Really love the pattern though !!
Have you tried a ringsling before ?? x

lol I think thats the main thing !
But they do take a fair bit of getting used to posiioning the shoulder just right so you cant feel the weight, and cant be used for as long as a meitai or wrap in my experience, good for a dash to the shops but no good for a big long walk round the park usually ! Seeing as youve already got/tried a few different carries might be just what your after ! xx

I knew you'd know!

I gather they're not for long outings or long walks BUT like you say I have a Mei Tai and have tried quite a few now so know what I want....

I still want a simply Mei Tai but fancy trying a Ring Sling too :D AND I love the fabrics (at long last I've found fabrics I LOVE!!!)!

Like I said, I have a ring sling. I also have a Babyhawk for longer walks but I actually use the ring sling on more of a daily bases.

Sorry hun I wasn't ignoring you! Thank you for your input...I was really hoping someone had one and could give me their opinion....so glad you love it as I definately want one now!

I use my BH a lot but just on the black side as I don't like the pattern I bought and black goes with everything! I really fancy a Ring Sling though and LOVE this pattern for a boy (I like all the patterns they do actually but LOVE this one!) and the pocket I imagine is very handy!!!

I also think if I get on with it, I'd use it more than the BH for popping Deri in xxxx

I am going to try to get to that Sling Meet in a couple of weeks but no doubt I will have bought the Ring Sling before  I just love it! You know what I'm like about finding a pattern that I like and is suitable for a boy!!!!!!!

Maybe I can ask OH to buy it for my birthday? :D

^^ I didn't think you were ignoring me, I just didn't want to sound like I was repeating myself but I had forgotten to mention the BH as a good alternative for longer walks as the posters after me did bring up a good point about the slings being hard on the back for long carries.

I personally think that everyone needs

1) ring sling
2) Mai Tai
3) wrap

They all do such different things and are good for different type of carries and needs. I just have to get myself a wrap and I'm set for good :)

LOL - thanks hun! I'm so into BWing atm but seem to know nothing about it when I go on specialist sites etc!!!! OMG, so much to learn, I'm baffled!

I LOVE my Mei Tai, I also had a wrap (Moby UV) but sold to fund my BabyHawk and now I want a Ring Sling!! :D (OH just shakes his head at me when I talk BW!!!! :haha:)

I can see the use of a Mei Tai and Ring Sling but in your opinion, why a wrap??? What would you use it for over a Mei Tai? Or am I totally missing something?

xxx

I would like a woven wrap (not stretchy like the Moby) that would support E. I think that they would be a bit easier for E to sleep in as you can tuck their little faces under the strap. Maybe a woven wrap and a MT are a bit overkill, the one might replace the other. I do know that my DH probably would never use the wrap but he does use the MT as it's simplier to learn.
