hi all.

jacobs recently started rolling onto his tummy - YAY!!!!:happydance:
however...once he gets onto his tummy he starts crying. im pretty sure its out of frustration as he isnt able to go any further than that yet but im in pieces as i dont know what to do

i dont really want to start moving him as this will not help him develope to the next stage and the few times ive given in and put him back on his back he rolls straight back onto his tummy again.

anyone else experienced this and what did u do???

Hi William does exactly the same as you described your LO does. I have left him a few times but he gets so frustrated that I turn him over but once he's on his back again he rolls straight back onto his stomach. Sorry it's not much help but just wanted to let you know I'm going through the same thing x

Daisy used to cry too when she first learned to roll onto her tummy as she then got stuck and couldn't rolll back! As soon as she was able to roll right over from front to back and back to front the tears stopped!

I found this a really hard stage. Abigail has just started to roll over back onto her back, so it has now passed. I hope that he works out how to roll back soon. I tried to "show" Abi how to do it, but it did take some time.

Thanks ladies. At least I'm not alone. I just hope he works out how to roll back again soon and that I don't hinder him.

My LO screamed the place down when he first learnt to roll on his fron and couldnt get any further, but he is a very stubbern boy that wants to learn everything now and gets frustrated with his limits easily.
I found that having LO on his tummy on my chest got him more used to the idea of being on his tummy so he had face to face.
Still continue with tummy time on the floor so your LO progresses but throw a bit of tummy time on your chest into it so it doesnt seem as much an annoyance to him when hes on the floor.
Also lay on the floor with him at his head end and just generaly act silly so it distracts him from being upset and put toys around him if he has somthing to distract him or help him roll towards he may not mind after a while, it soon passes normaly by the next growth spurt and he will generaly be a happy little bunny after he cracks it :)
