My water broke at work yesterday morning, around 8. Went home, got hospital stuff, drove to hospital. No contractions or anything, just what seemed like a leaky faucet in my pelvic area.. Got to the hospital around 10, they started an IV and Pitosin to induce contractions. Took a LONGGG time for me to start feeling contractions, but once I did they were STRONG. My contractions never started out light and go to strong. The first contraction I had was just as strong as the last one. My IV came out, so I had to wait like an hour to get an epidural, but when I did it made me feel sooo much better and I do not know what I would have did without it! The good thing was that as soon as I started having contractions, they were strong enough to go ahead and get an epidural so I didnt have to experience the pain of the contractions for very long.. Later last night, the catheter in my back from my epidural ended up coming out, so I started to feel contractions again. Was already dilated to an 8 so the anesthesologist rushed back up here to give me another one. Again, it was like instant relief, dont know what I would have did without it. Doctor came in to check me, and I was fully dialted but my anterior cervix still wasnt all the way thinned out, so she had me start pushing and turned my Pitocin back up. Right after I started pushing my epidural stopped working again and I felt most of the pain during labor. ): Kinda sucked. Rylan got about halfway and then she had to vaccuum him out while I was pushing in order to get him out. I might have pushed for 15 mins tops. Anyways, hes a healthy little boy and very calm. Doesnt cry much (YET) and I have to wake him up to eat. Hates baths.
