Say a prayer for Mel Moon *updated*

I spoke to Mel today and although she is only 14+4 the doctor's think she might have pre-eclampsia. She had high blood pressure before her pregnancy but today it was sky high with protein in her urine. She is being kept in overnight at the moment, and as her second urine showed leucocytes and blood they are hoping it might be a kidney or a urine infection helping to raise the blood pressure. I just wanted to start this to try and give her some hope and to let her know we are thinking of her at this difficult time. I'll keep you updated if there is any news.

*Update*

Mel is home now and on new medication which unfortunately is making her quite ill. She has been referred to a bigger hospital and they are hopeful to try to keep it under control to get her baby to 24 weeks at least.

My thoughts are with her. Hopefully it's just an infection. I had pre-ec in my first pregnancy, (got it from 34 weeks onwards) but it was controlled with a hospital stay and medication and i went to full term then induced. Ive had high blood pressure and protein in my urine several times in this pregnancy too, but so far it was due to UTI's so keeping positive. Im sure she'll be fine, sending my love and prayers xx

I hope everything turns out well for her!. I have had pre eclampsia in my last three pregnancies but I have never heard of it starting this early I should think it would be extremely rare so hopefully it IS just an infection and unrelated high blood pressure.
My blood pressure is high all through pregnancy (was high at last appointment) and I have been put on medication so if she turns out to have an infection and is put on medication the outlook is very good. All of my babies have got to at least 35 weeks even though I was in and out from 20 weeks onwards so fingers crossed they will get it under control!

my thoughts r with u honey!! i am 20 weeks and going through a simlar thing, i have a massive blood clot, so i know how hard it is!! just have faith and rest up!!
