Well, I have been to the Doctors today cos I have Thrush, never had it b4 and wondered, " What The Hell", but all was fine he says that most women get this when they are preggy? So off I go happy on my way into Town to look at all the lovely stuff I shall be buying soon (i hope). Anyway gets back from Town and goes to the loo. OMG!!! I am bleeding, straight on the phone to me MUM first of all (god knows what she can do but there you go), then I calls the Doctors again!! Anyway panic starts to set in as I thought, "Here we go again, another little one gone to heaven", (I think the worst after last pregnancy). I goes in and tells him I am bleeding and he says where!!, What a stupid question, then he askes me what happened so I tell him that when I went to he loo, I was bleeding. He asks me to do a sample so I do and it turns out I have a water infection. I didn't think you bleed with a water infection (well I dn't know cos I have never had one) do you? So have been given Antibiotics but don't really want to take them, but prolly have to to clear this up.

Has anyone else had water infection and did you bleed cos I am still worried about it all???

Yes, it's quite common really. You must take them or the infection will travel to your kidneys and a kidney infection is absolutely hideous! Plus, infections pose a risk to the baby if left untreated.

Honestly, don't worry. Antibiotics are absolutely fine to take in pregnancy.

Thats good to know and I don't want a kidney infection that sounds painful!! Thank you.

It is, trust me :( I woke up one night shaking uncontrollably and so much that all my muscles ached! Ugh, horrid! x

Also, worth knowing... thrush can cause bleeding too.

Can it? Thanks I have never had any of these b4 so thought the worst. Thanks you x x x

Well I popped in to offer help on this one but the lovely Femme has beaten me to it and dispensed fab advice, so I'll just wish you a speedy recovery xxx

I have been getting thrush my whole life and it is a nightmare yuck, I feel for you. I am also prone to urinary tract infections thankfully and strangly (touch wood) I have not had these during pg, I do remember my mum saying that it is very difficult to ahem... insert the pessary when you get so big it is hard to get round your belly.

Get rid of these now you will feel so much better

I've not had thrush while I'm pregnant, but other times I've had it I got some plain, natural, unsweetened yoghurt, dipped a tampon in it and inserted it. Change for a fresh one every few hours (keep the yoghurt in the fridge, the coolness of it is lovely on the itching!). This has always worked for me in a few days, I have never taken any drugs or whatever from the pharmacy for it. I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't do this yoghurt thing during pregnancy.

The times I have had thrush it has been because I've been on antibiotics, it's an unfortunate side-effect that as well as killing off whatever you've taken the antibiotics for, they kill off the good bacteria in your vagina, and then the thrush moves in and takes over. The yoghurt helps to replenish the good bacteria.

I have been getting thrush on and off!! Its rubbish! I just use canastan cream and i change my pants alot! that helps. I wouldn't reccomend using a tampon while pregnant, could cause infection.

And i have had a kidney infection before, it felt like someone was trying to rip them out of my body!! Ouch, so defo take the antibiotics, they will be perfectly fine!

:flower::hugs:

Hope you're feeling better soon, pet. Thank goodness it was 'only' a UTI if you know what I mean.

Keep well Princess.

Yeah thank goodness, was so worried, thought, "Here we go again", but always the drama queen me LOL.

xxxxooooxxxxx

Aw, thrush is one of those lovely side effect, I think. I can't seem to shift mine - I have pessary after pessary, and it goes away but just comes back again.

Hope it shifts soon, and your UTI goes away too! Just try not to panic!!!

Panic...Me LOL, I have never know anything like this Thrush business it is bloody awful and never want it again, how long does it last for usually??? I have no clue, seems to be worse at night time, UTI seems to be going away, that was bloody sore too, I have been drinking pints and pints of water LOL x x x

Just one thing to be aware of - antibiotics can sometimes cause thrush, so if your symptoms are easing off now but then come back after you've finished the course of tablets, this could be the reason. Just thought I'd mention it. Good luck! xx

Just to let you all know I am feeling much better today and thank you JenStar1976, I will bear that in mind, the doctor gave me some more cream cos he said I would be needing some cos of the anit's.

Thank you to you all x x x x
