Why do people do this? Had a scan today and told the placenta low and fully covering os, scan lady said this prob wouldnt move up, mw that took my blood said I would prob need C Section, went to see the consultant and he was very laid back and said that the chances of it moving up were good, about 1 in 20 dont apparently.
Then I see my sil and tell her about my sciatica....................'oooooooh she said my friend was in a wheelchair for 3months cos of that'
Are they trying to scare me?
then I come home from work and get a letter about gbs and how potentially life threatening it is to baby! ffs I was told I just have to have anti biotics at the labour and all would be fine, Ive had enough today!

:hugs: Try not to worry, your placenta will probably move up! x

Im sure it will but if it doesnt the que sera sera, it just seems people have to tell you worst case scenario, never the good ending stories, im sure sil didnt mean to but just peed me off after a long day at hospital

All of a sudden everyone thinks they are a fully trained Doctor when you are pregnant, don't listen to anyone other than the real professionals!

They always tell you the worse case senario. I believe my consultant over midwife anytime.

Midwife told me to get a vitamin D supplement because there is no vitamin D in any pregnancy vitamins so I told her yes I think there is and she had a go at me.. So got home and checked and there was in both pregnacare and sanatogen 250% of rda.

People only like to tell you the bad stuff Hun just ignore them. Btw what's gbs? X

Group B Streptoccoci its a bacteria thing that lives in your vagina and comes and goes, not harmful to adults but can cause probs to babies during birth, just have to have IV antibiotics at birth.

Ridiculous isn't it! I don't have any advice to offer except take certain things with a pinch of salt!

:hugs: Dont worry hun. Ever since I got pregnant, every women I run into has a horrific story about pregnancy and birth. They aren't experts and its stupid for them to tell you stuff to stress you out. I'm sure everything will be great.

thanks, theres nothing I can do about anything so just gotta do what ya gotta do, im just gonna take everything like you say, with a pinch of salt

I had a low placenta, which moved up with ds1. I wouldn't worry about something which is out of your control. They just check to see if it has moved at around 32 weeks :flower::hugs: It just depends on whether the placenta is actually rooted there, and therefore will remain there, or whether it is just rooted near the cervix and, as your womb grows, it can move up with it. This is not something that they can see well at this stage of pregnancy. As for sciatica I have this too. I'm not planning to end up in a wheelchair! You might find a bump support belt helps with this. I wear one called a Carriwell support band and it really helps :hugs::flower::thumbup:.
