Girls i am just so fed up... TMI.... I have just found a lovely gloopy mess on my toilet tissue. For the 6th time.. how much of this stuff is there? Why have my waters not broke? Why are people due after me having their bambinos before me? :sad2:

What i want to know really is how do i know when i am in proper labour? I have been having contractions loads over the past few days- but they don't really hurt me? Am i just wel'ard or what lol. Boyfriend keeps saying i should ring the hospital because it is obvious that i am contracting regularly but its just because they don't hurt me I have just got used to them and forget to time them or even realise it is happening sometimes? x

Know how you feel. I was like that when i was having my oldest. Maybe give the hospital a call and see what they say, other wise try a gentle walk. Fingers crossed not long to go for you now.

The plug can reform itself, so that is probably why you've seen so much of it. Try to relax and carry on as normal.... give your mw a ring if you are concerned. I think MWs call it niggling labour, that's where labour appears to start but doesn't really GO anywhere. You can niggle for days before it truly kicks in. Think of it this way - all this is just a great big neon sign that your LO will be here very very soon!

Do you have a breast pump? Stimulation of the breast and nipples is one labour inducing technique... it normally has to be prolonged to work, and can sometimes result in quite intense contractions. But if you're fed up of niggling and feel like you just want to get on with it, it might be worth a try?

in my pregnancy book it said that prolonged nipple stimulation is not a good idea as it can cause the baby to get distressed so i really wouldnt recommend you do that! Just go for a walk and see what happens. Remember in a couple of weeks this will all be behind you! (((HUGS)))

thanks girlies, think i have jinxed myself. Having painful contractions lasting about 45seconds, they are about half hour apart. When should i call the hospital? X

My MW suggested walking up and down the stairs to try giving things a kick start. She said its not guaranteed but it gets your pelvis moving etc

Mw's recommend waiting (if you can!) till contractions are regular, strong, about five minutes apart and lasting about 60 seconds. But if you feel you need to go sooner then just go. They won't mind. :) To be honest with all four of my labours the contractions were all over the place with no real pattern. lol. Good luck!! xx
