Scs do I have any rights?

So we bought a sofa in scs about 3-4months ago paid in full for it but didn't take any insurance on it,it's a scatter back cushion type! Wel today I was looking at it and have noticd that on one of the cushions it's all ripped on the seam by the zip :( I'm soooo annoyed do we have any rights or did we loose them when we said to the insurance?
 
Well its not fit for the purpose its been sold so i think they will do something! xx
 
should be guaranteed for 12m atleast as its not 'wear and tear'.
 
call and find out, they should replace it. if they wont contact trading standards
 
Thanks for replying, I am absolutely gutted All of the other cushions are fine apart from one! Any advice on what to say to them were no good with stuff like this?
 
Just say there is a huge rip near the zip and it looks like a manufacturing default :shrug: I doubt there will be any probs hun, its not like youve got tipex all over a black sofa and wanted it replaced.
 
It shouldn't matter if you took out the insurance or not, as it'd still have the 12 month guarantee on it. I wouldn't say its really "wear and tear" if it's the seam by the zip. Give them a call, they might replace the cushion cover for you :)
 
Will be sending the oh down tomorro after he's woken up from his night shift,I hope they don't kick up a fuss not holding out for much hope they kicked up a fuss when they didn't give us the cleaning stuff we bought and we asked for it!

Ot- but omg blah your already 30weeks pregnant wow that's gone quick :)
 
they might not deal with it in store, u may have to call customer service. so id call them first, might save ur oh making a un needed trip

Didn't manage to phone them today :( making sure oh phones them first thing but I have a leaflet with my receipt that says that the furniture has a 1yr guarantee against manufacters problems so hoping they'll replace the cushion for us
 
Oh phoned them they are phoning us within 48hrs to arrange for someone to come out and decide whether they are going to do anything or not!
 
Is there a garantee on it? They should change it, ring and try you may get somewhere :flower:
 
I think ther is a 12month..oh did phone them before they do anything their going to come and assess the cushion! If they say they can't do anything then we will continue to take it further
