Second baby - How to get registered?

Hello lovers.

How do you go about getting registered with a MW with your second baby? Do you need to see a GP first or can you just book youself in with a MW? Does anyone know?

Hey!! I just booked straight in with the midwife! I phoned my GP's office & they said theres no point in seein the GP...as long as u r sure ur pregnant lol!

I don't think it makes a difference what baby number it is, I think in different areas they have different systems. Really there is no point in seeing a GP. I just go to the doctors receptionist and ask to make a midwife appointment for 8 weeks. The midwife called me the next day and arranged it. If you have the number for your community midwife you may be able to call them direct. I would be surprised if you were made to waste a GP appointment as usually the doctors are very busy.

My GP have just said the opposite and that I have to go in and see them first,I'm not sure why
