Ok I don't know wth is wrong with me. I've been such a cool customer all through this pregnancy, and now at 40 weeks exactly I'm starting to feel nervous about labour! I didn't even have a traumatic birth last time - it was reasonably long but I coped well with just gas and air and had a beautiful water birth.

So why am I feeling nervous all of a sudden? Has anyone who's already had 2 or more found it easier the second time? Less painful? Will the nerves go away once I actually go into labour?

My second birth was a breeze compared to my first. But I too felt nervous about Laboring again before I had her. And oddly enough, with yesterday starting my third trimester, the thought of labor scared me once again. I think it's natural. Even though I look forward to it and am excited about it, I still think "I hope I can cope with the pain and that things go the way I want." But again, my second birth was sooooo much easier than my first. You can do this!

I have started to feel a bit anxious too. My first experience wasn't great and I ended up having a section, but up until last week, I felt quite calm and positive about labour. God knows why I'm now starting to get nervous!

I'm terrified my first wasn't the best but my no means the worst either I think it's kinda coz we know what's coming. I'm sure once it starts we'll be fine :) x

I'm with you, sort of dreading it really because I know what's coming (more or less...)

I was the same! But it was a dream compared to my first..
So easy that's why I'm doing it again so soon!

Second labor was much quicker and easier than my first. It was still painful, but over quickly. Entered hospital with contractions at 8 am, baby was on my chest right after 1pm.

My second labor was far far less painful and not nearly as long. That being said my first was a hard birth as he was face up. But i managed through. I had a lot of stress about birthing #2 because of all the back labor i had with #1. But then it happened and things went fine. No back labor whatsoever and baby just came into this world with much less pain and not taken nearly as long. Both births were magical in their own right, but the second was more...pleasant? (i dont know if thats the word or not bc birth is anything but pleasant for me  but you catch my drift).

Second waS so much better. Painful contractions started at 7pm, got to hospital 8pm was 4cm. He was born at 11.10pm! Gas and air only.

My 2nd was sooooo much easier!! But saying that, I'm scared again now because it's been 8 years since my last one and I'm worried my body has forgot what to do

Thanks everyone I hope this one is easier too - like I say I had a good first birth I'm not sure why I was having a last minute wobble! I think (now that I am technically overdue) that I just want to get it over and done with now!!
