What does this entail (apart from the obvious lol)

Is it done at a doctors surgery or at a local clinic and how long does it take for results to come back?

Hiya Hun,

My OH has been to the doctors tonight to get his sample pot  there has to be 3 days clear with no ejaculation, it has to be done and taken to the hospital within 1 hour, and he was told to call the surgery a week after hes taken the sample in.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Tina, just hoping that the doc agrees to it when he goes and asks next week, did you have a time that you had to of been trying for before your doc agreed?

My OH said that we'd been trying for a year, its only been just over 6mths to be honest but he exaggerated the truth a tad...lol...but time is not on our side he's 35 this year and i'm 39, I already have children but he doesn't yet!!
When he told his GP we'd been trying a year then he said it was a reasonable request to get a SA.
I've had 21 day progesterone bloods done and all was fine with them so just need to get this SA done now and see whats going on.

Hi Tina

Similar scenario to mine then, I have children already but he doesnt, hasnt been 12 months but not that far off since I have used any contraception and it never took me more than 2 months to get caught on any of my others so unsure whats going on, although I am pretty sure Im not ovulating every month :(

Same here i've always seemed to catch really quickly before, could just be because the others weren't planned and I wasn't thinking about it, I don't know :dohh: but it just seems to be taking forever now.
Do you do OPK's or chart your temperature, I wasn't sure if I was ovualating, started with OPK's but i've never got a + on them so decided to start temping, this is the 3rd month now and its alot easier than OPK's, O'd late this month for some reason.

Anyway I would get your OH to go to his GP and maybe just exaggerate the truth a little and just get it checked out.

Ive only just started to do opk's and havnt had a surge on them so have borrowed a clearblue fertility monitor so hoping il have more luck on that as im really not sure about temping, just reading about it all and im lost!

Have suffered with mid cycle bleeding now for quite a while so im guessing I may have a prob with progesterone with or without a poss sperm prob, got caught 9 times previously with my ex so I never doubted my fertility before.....

Hello again,

Temping isn't that hard, I usually set my alarm for 6am every morning and chart it on fertility friend, its quite easy when you get used to it, plus you don't have to keep paying once you have your thermometer, but its what ever suits you best I guess.

I've never doubted my fertility before now, it always seemed so easy before

Anyway all the best for your future BFP and good luck.
