When I was giving Emmie her last feed I noticed she had a bloodshot eye, its right in the outer corner and is quite a red patch :/
I think she must have done it today, when she wakes from her nap and has a feed she always tries to rub her eyes really badly and I have to kind of hold her hands down until she forgets about it!
The reason I ask is that my step-son told me his friend has a red streak in her eye where she scratched it when she was a baby and it stayed there ever since! Now while this may not be an entirely factual story lol, I'm still worried she may have done some permanant damage there, what do you think? xx

I'm not an expert, but my advice is don't worry about it. It's probably due to tiredness, her rubbing/scratching her eye, an allergy or something getting into and aggravating her eye. The likelihood is that it won't stay that way, and no permanant damage has been done. Babies are constantly rubbing their eyes/poking their eyes with things.... Keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't heal then take her to the doctors to get it checked. x

Surely some one else can offer advice too???? ^^^^

could be an eye infection? if you bf, use a bit of the milk on cotton wool. If not cooled boiled water

Thanks guys, it looks like its fading down now so hopefully will just heal by itself. I hate it when she starts poking/rubbing her eyes! xx

bless, Amari always gets red eyes when shes tired :) it will clear up :)
