I'm on 12th cycle now, but I've only been regular for three months.. before i was ALWAYS late.. cycles were all over the place.
So should I count myself as 12th months TTC? or only 3 months TTC?
I'm not sure if the doctor will even take me seriously because I'm still young,
he will probably send me off telling me to try again for another year before they will do anything :haha:
I'm just starting to worry if something may actually be wrong now. I have really heavy periods, well I'm not really sure what a "normal" period is lol I seem to loose quite a lot of blood.. especially in the morning, I have to wipe like 4 times and there's still loads. I'm on CD4 now and it's still as heavy as it was on CD1. :( It's showing no signs of getting lighter urgh.
They can be extremely painfull too, to the point where I'm curled over in tears.. painkillers will work for a little while but then the pain is back. To be honest it feels like someone is ripping my uterus apart in there when I'm on my period.
This cycle wasn't too painfull at all though thankgod.

So what do you think? try for a few more cycles or go to the doctors?
I was thinking about ringing them today but totally forgot LOL
I'm in no mega hurry, I'm still young so time is on my side :)

There is no harm in going to the doctors - if not to talk about TTC, then to talk about your heavy/infrequent periods.

Make an appointment on Monday -though knowing the NHS - you may not get to see a GP til after Christmas.

Good luck

I always worry they will just laugh at me and be like "come back in a few years when your older" LOL

I might go and talk about heavy periods and then start the topic of TTC. Think I may ask for a female doctor though, my actual doctor is not very nice.. and a man.. i'm not sure he will understand how painful a period can be:haha:

Thanks :)

hey hun i always thought that about going to the doctors at 18 and talking ttc, but i went and thats where i found out eventually i had pcos throw me asking so many questions and saying its not normal its been 12 munths n nothing tho i demanded tests done pml i think you should go for both i got tablets to control my period and the best news is they dont effect ttc :D they make it alot lighter and less painful and u only take it the first 4 days of your period and thats it :) xxxxxx

Hey Bethney, the guideline/rule here in Canada is anything over a year you can see a specialist (regardless of age) if you are over 35 than its 6 months only.
Hon, your periods sound horrendous, any chance you have endometrosis?
I would definitely see your doctor and get your periods checked out and see a fertility specialist as well, doesnt matter if your young, if your ready now and its taking a year, it should be your right to find out if all is okay.
xx

I say you should be able to go into the doctor now. Keep in mind doctors sometimes get 'precription happy' and may recommend the pill. I went in for advice on how to regulate my period and the lady told me I could go on the pill before I could explain I had been off the pill fpor a year in September and I would like to start TTC soon.

Yeh I think I may book an appointment after christmas hun :)
As I'm not thinking about TTC at the moment, just enjoying christmas hehe.
I'll see what they say and what tests they can run.. I just have that gut feeling that something is wrong. and I know my body quite well, when something is wrong I just know it.

Oh dear god no more pill lol, the pill is the reason my periods are irregular. I was on cerazette which was evil to me. Made me have pregnancy symptoms. Stopped my ovulation, made my periods heavy when I came off (I think that's why they are so heavy) as it made my lining thicker. All this not knowing is doing my head in though. I think it's time for a doctors appointment and don't worry, there's no way I'm going back on the pill lol that puts me right back to step 1. x

Hey hun, I think it's the same here in the UK, but I have heard of women getting turned away and even told to TTC for another year before they will even do a blood test
My periods are the second worry, I actually dread them every month, when I felt AF coming this cycle I was practically a nervous wreck telling OH to get the hot water bottle quick. I was supprised it wasn't too painful at all.. I went OWWWW and screwed my face up one though :haha:

I will be booking an appointment after christmas. I just need to know if there is or isn't anything wrong so my mind can be at ease a bit more. Right now for all I know anything could be wrong.. which is scary and yeh I think I have a right to know if something is wrong with me.. that's what doctors are for I guess.

I really want my :bfp: :hissy: lol

hey hun!
firstly im sorry your AFs have been soo horrible! hopfully your doctor can suggest something for you.
i went and saw my doctor about 8 months ago and told her that we have been trying for a long time and she told me that i was still young and it would take a year for an average couple and she told me that cause i was young nothing would be wrong and i should loose some weight.....never went back to her haha
now im seeing a doctor who is awesome and has found a cyst on my ovary when i was mcing our 2nd, and im only 20.
i think you need to find some one who is willing to answer all your questions!
good luck darl i hope you get your BFP soon!! xxx

Ahh she sounds like such a cow!!! :o that's why i wont go to my actual doctor.. if i go in with an ear infection he will try and section me off with an eating disorder which i do not have (im 9stone and eat like a horse). so I'm going to ask for a female doctor i think :) I'll grab an appointment after i enjoy xmas :) No thinking about fertility until after then haha.
Thanks :)
