please help.

My baby is 3 weeks old and i have been exclusively BFing. Yesterday was my toughest yet as Joshua seemed unsettled all day, after sleeping 5 hours and waking at 4.30am for a feed.

He has starting bringing up more milk than previous.

Last night he slept 4 hours before his early morning feed.

His last feed was at 12 o'clock and he had about 15 minutes, which is normal, but he did bring quite a bit of it back.

It has now been 4.5 hours since his last feed, and he has been asleep for nearly 3 hours. Should I wake him to feed him?

Thanks in advance - from an anxious first time mom

the main thing I was told was to ideally not let them go any longer than 6 hours. I usually change his nappy around the 5 hour mark to stirr him but he normally wakes himself before then :flower: xx

I wouldn't, unless he's not gaining weight well.

No way I would! Enjoy it. A hungry baby won't settle x

Yep, I'd wake through baby through day after around 4 hours x

I was just wondering the same thing! Thanks for the post and the advice!

I was told no more than 5-6 hours, and if he's sleeping that well then enjoy it. I used to want to wake mine up too, and now she sleeps 3 hours if i'm extremely lucky. Normally she'll eat for 25-45 minutes every 2-3 hours so that means I usually get 1.5-2.5 hours of sleep at a time if I'm lucky. Just enjoy it. Catch up on your sleep.
