Should I wake him?

My LO has rarely slept for more than 30-40 minutes for naps.

Since taking his dummy away and establishing naps in the cot, they have constantly been about 40 minutes in length. Once last week he slept 1.5hr.

Today however, he's been down 2hr 15mins and still sleeping. This is VERY out of character for him. He hasn't really been himself for a few days, very grumpy.

Should I let him sleep? I'm concerned he won't sleep tonight, as we start bedtime routine at 6:30pm.

I should also add, he had a 30min nap at approx 10:20am, but hasn't slept at all since then, before going down for this nap at 13:35pm.

My gut feeling is to let him sleep

I would check he is ok but leave him to sleep. We never used to wake Helen from naps and actually it rarely interfered with bedtimes. Maybe he has just finally got the hang of self settling between sleep cycles and you can look forward to this length of nap every day!!!

I would leave him to nap, when my lo is teething she naps up to 3 hours at a time!!

yeah when we are feeling poorly all we would want to do is sleep. but yeah have a little check in on him but we always leave Ellie to sleep, he might just go down a little later tonight and if it a one off occasion I see no harm but thats of course up to you xx

Leave him to sleep :) and hope it becomes a habit!!! Lol :)

Well he's just woken up after 2.5hrs. It was bliss to have some time to myself. He probably will go down later tonight, but I dont mind that. I kept checking on him as I was so paranoid. I really do hope he'll keep it up and have a long nap each day. wont get my hopes up though as he had a longer nap than usual once last week too.

Thanks for your replies ladies. It's silly, but just felt like I needed re-assuring xxx

not silly at all we all need reassuing at times, glad you enjoyed the peace lol xx

Just to add like someone above has said. My eldest when she used to have long naps and sometimes late ones and not once did it effect her night sleep.

He could be hitting the 6 month gs.... Eat more sleep more xx

He does seem to have hit a gs. He as been eating like a pig :) He's always had a healthy appetite, but that last few days has been beyond :)

Exactly like how my Lo was. Lasted a good week and a half! Then suddenly cut right down to just 2 bottles a day! He's picked his milk back up though last couple of days its either cus hes not well and just wants fluids or its cus he likes the follow on milk i started him on cus of the decrease. Tbh though just before and just after a gs I have always noticed a decrease in his milk. X

Thanks fabby. How did LO enjoy the cricket dinner in the end?

xx
