Sick of "making do".. Bit of a rant

So some of u might know, due to moving around alot at beginning of pregnancy, both me & OH lost our jobs, I managed to get a temp job but thats finished now so we on income support atm, while OH does some courses at college to "better himself" as he hasnt got GCSEs or anything and was finding it really hard to get back into work.

But we get paid around £200 every two weeks, this is for us to live on, and get things for baby etc until child benefit starts. I literally hate atmitting this, I hate being on benefits I wish we werent!

Buh every time we get paid OH has to go pick up his son from a previous relationship, then we have him for that weekend, then my OH has to drop him back, this costs around £30 to do. Then we have to entertain his son while hes here, which costs money all the time. So basically £50 is gone before it even gets here, then £20 for gas, £20 for electric for the two weeks. Then £50/60 for food shopping for the two weeks. Which leaves us with £50 to buy stuff 4 bub, or save.. It also goes on travel expenses to college, town etc. Its just so annoying. If only his sons mother would do one of the trips to drop off or pick up her son buh NO ofcourse she wont She also demands maintenance of £10 a week, which when on benefits is alot considering she has her OH who pays for everything, and a job off the books while she still gets benefits etc. It just does my head in. She hates me and is doing anything to make my life awkward. Thats my money to and I dont get a penny of it for say a big fat chocolate cake etc. I have to go without because she wont get on a train to pick up her son.

I understand maintenance is maintenance, he has to pay that, buh she could atleast lessen the load doing a trip, she knows am due this weekend.. Now OH wants to go see his friends in London the day we get paid, 2 DAYS BEFORE MY DUE DATE which is going to cost £30 as "after the baby he wont have time with college and the baby", and do the whole having his son for the weekend when Im due this weekend, I really would rather not!

I llove his son, like hes my own, buh what if i go into labour and then my OH has to leave me to drop his son home before he comes to hospital with me, etc!

Im so upset about this!! I would love to just be able to say yes ama have abit spare money this week to indulge myself.. I used to have my nails hair tan done all the time, nice clothes etc, now I cant even get a pack of strawberry laces because OH and his son come first and our moneys gone fbefore I even see it How is this fair??

I understand how you feel a bit. We don't have a big income but once the tax man takes his cut and we pay all the bills etc there is very little left to indulge. Can not remember the last time I got a hair cut and everytime I think there is going to be a bit spare something comes up that needs the money more like a school tripbor an ill car. I am lucky in that we don't really need to buy much as we still gave loads we kept from the last one but with Christmas coming up and presents to buy that will see off any savings then DH car is about to expire so we need to replace that so he can get to work
