Both my LO's have been struck down with an awful tummy bug ,so much so that nothing stays down not even water. So am I a bad mummy for saying nil by mouth for the time being? Every time they are sick they panic and get upset but yet they stop as soon as nothing is in their tums! I've tried dry toast, dry cereal n plain noodles and all came back up. Same with liquids all came back up. Totally at a loss and feel awful I can't do much to help :(

No your not a bad mummy at all. I do the same, although I would say let them sip water just to keep them hydrated, don't gulp/down it, just sip every 20mins or so.

Are they still sick even after a few small sips of water? If they can manage even the tiniest amount, give it to them so they don't get dehydrated. Otherwise wait a little while and try again later.

Oh my two don't sip lol but I will try with a big cup to see if that will make a difference. I feel so bad as my ds is complaining of being hungry but I'm scared it's gonna just come back up. I actually think I have a fear of sick :dohh:

Yea no point in giving them anything until they can keep down fluid. Then just try something small like a plain cracker.

I definitely have a fear of sick because I get nervous when people around me are being sick, and I especially hate being sick! I panic terribly.

Well *touch wood* I think it may have passed for Lex,she's ate some dry cereal and had some water and fingers crossed nothing has reappeared. Leo on the other hand is playing with his cereal and refusing any liquid,he seems more perky though.

Ian totally the same as you xnewxmummyx I fear sick, hate the smell, the sound of someone retching infact anything to do with spew makes me sweat and panic.
This part of being a mummy is super super hard:dohh:

Me three on the fear of sick (it's called emetophobia, btw). I would recommend the sips of water.
