Hello ladies,

We are a little behind with the whole sippy cup training when it comes to milk. This doesn't mean my boys don't use sippies at all cause they do. We have these Nuk learner bottles for their juice and water and they love them. These sippies are non drip but without a valve and have a soft teat.
But I have tried giving them their milk in that and they just lose interest and throw the sippy away. I have also tried the Avent ones with the hard spout and valve. The valve has the same result that they throw away the bottle but without the valve the milk goes EVERYwhere.

Which sippies do you use for milk for your over 1 year old and why would you recommend them?
Thanks in advance for any advice :)

We are still using these:

Have been since we started weaning. She uses the one with handles for water/juice and the beaker type for milk. They don't have non spill valves so we do get the occasional spillage but she's pretty good at not pouring it everywhere now, well almost! :dohh: I was told by HV that free flow ones are better as they teach them to sip not suck

That makes sense. Maybe I shouldn't be so squeamish about them spilling it every where and just let them learn. Need better bibs. Thanks :)

I use the avent ones - I'm trying to move over to the hard spout all the time but my LO does a lot better with the softer rubber one and i'm still using that for the bedtime sippy. His daytime milk sippy is with the hard spout - I also have them on free flow but I guess i'm lucky (in one way) as my LO has always refused to hold his own bottle/sippy for milk so we don't get too many spills of that - he happily picks up and uses the same thing with water in just not milk - sigh...

LO didnt seem to like any sippy cup at all (after numerous trials) and we've gone onto a beaker with a straw

a bit like that (but from B&M's for 99p) It doesnt spill either

We love sainsburys own straw beaker, it's got a compartment at the bottom for drink with a straw going up through a snack compartment, then a lid that you twist around to put the straw up and down preventing leaks whilst travelling /in your bag. It does have a valve, but not such a tight one that I've experienced with some of the "NO SPILL" brands.

I can't find it on their website but it's in their stores, willow has 5 of them as I love it so much, she doesn't struggle drinking out of it either which she does with some of the harder to suck through beakers and straws.
