So it looks like DD might have Slap Cheek, which is all I bloody need right now. I'm taking her to the Dr tomorrow, and I know they can do a blood test to check if I'm immune, but does anyone know how long these take to come back?

It's the last thing I need this week - I'm in the middle of a round of redundancies at work and have to interview for my own job on Thursday, could really do with not having to worry about this at the same time

this is a viral illness kids get, I have never heard of checking someones immunity for it...

My test took about a week to come back. Hopefully they can get the results to you as soon as possible.

I had to be tested for this last week and they did the test fromy booking bloods with a result the same day - I was impressed! Unfortunately I'm not immune so going to have to be retested in a few weeks and I think the result from a new blood sample will take around a week to come back.

:hugs: I know exactly how you feel with this being one thing you don't need on top of all the other stresses. We've been having a really stressful time too and this felt like the icing on the cake.

I was also tested and results took just over a week. Luckily I was immune but my friend was not. Slapped check can be so very dangerous for pregnant women, I think they should check for immunity with all the regular blood checks they do at the start of pregnancy. X

Well, I'm seeing the Dr tonight, so hopefully they can either check my medical records and verify that I've had it and immune, or they can do the test and we'll take it from there.

This whole pregnancy thing is just a minefield of potentially dangerous viruses that you would never have thought twice about before, and it's even worse when you have a toddler that can catch everything going.........

I had never even heard of that virus, but I looked it up and am pretty terrified now :(

I was not immune, but contracted the virus last October....luckily it was before I became pregnant. I was so sick, as it is much worse to get as an adult....kids seem to only get a mild fever with a rash. I was really sick for about a week before the rash presented itself.
