i know there are lots of posts about this at the moment, but need to release!

After doing some sleep training with Tobi, we went from not settling on his own EVER and waking up, up to 13 times a night and then getting up at 5am. To settling on his own at bedtime, sleeping brilliantly and waking at 430 for a feed then up for the day at 6. Tobi was a MUCH happier baby and so was Mummy!

Last night was back to the old days. He went down easy at 630pm. Then woke at 7.10, 830, 930, 1.10, 3, 430 and then up at 518!! ( I did write a post last night, worrying that my milk wasn't there last night!)

Usually if he wakes up in the night, I will leave him for a few minutes to see if he will go back to sleep, but last night he woke up with a very 'desperate' cry. So I went in and comforted him, gave him the breast and he would have a suckle and then fall fast asleep!

I don;t know if this is sleep regression, teething, growth spurt or what!

I don't mind the waking as such, it was more the fact that he was so upset when he did wake up.

No temperature, no nappy rash, no funny poo's, no red cheeks. I am at a loss!

I just hope whatever it is will pass today and he sleeps better tonight!

Hi Hun could it be the 4months growth spurt? Huggs to you both. Hope that He will sleep better soon again.

You sounds just like me! You know what can happen at this stage but when it happens you're just not sure.

It definitely sounds like it's because he has hit that 4 month regression. They find it harder to get to sleep and stay asleep and their sleep is a lot lighter, poor little beans.

Isabella gets really upset when she wakes as well (or when she can't get off to sleep), and I think they just get so frustrated with it all. Much like us when we can't get to sleep and stay asleep!

I've been told in my thread that it does pass!!!

Sounds like it to me too. I started a thread on the 4 month sleep regression to give everyone support at the time. It was hellish. Just keep up your routine and ride it out and it will get better I promise. :hugs:

:hugs: hope it gets better Ju.

I'm having a similar thing with Isaac - we believe it's his teeth because he is doing lot's of grissling during the night whilst asleep and also when he's awake....bonjela is helping to a certain degree.

Isaac since 10 weeks has been sleeping straight through until 7.30 but for the last few nights, 5.30 has been the norm....

The only way he goes back to sleep, is by getting in bed with mummy and daddy :haha:

Thanks everyone, I was wondering if I can got away with it, because he is now 19 weeks...was hoping at least!

Nic - we have just got Tobi going 7 hours and now this!! I try bringing him to bed at 5am, but he not at all interested any more! he just wants to be up and about!
And then has been really grumpy today!

Do you mind if i ask what kind of sleep training you did and was it something you did yourself or with help? My lo is only 3 weeks and i have been thinking about when to try getting him to settle himself. I hope your lo gets through this stage soon, it must be so frustrating to have made such progress and then feel like things have gone backwards. x

Well, whatever happened last night, seems to be a one off. He has gone down at 630 as usual and not heard a peep!
fingers crossed!

Great news, hope he sleeps well for you tonight! xx

I hope it continues!

No night is ever the same, is what my mother in law said to me this evening!

Nicola xx
